An Insider’s Guide: Linens
If you have the budget to rent linens from a professional company, you’ll find that there are many options in a variety of price ranges. We asked the folks at BBJ Linen, 713-520-6686, bbjlinen.com, a nationwide company with a regional office in Houston, to describe some of the most commonly requested fabrics and how much it costs to rent them. Sheers (left, top) are light, transparent fabrics often used as color overlays to make a matte or satin fabric look lighter and dreamier. Cost: $20 and up for a 90" square overlay. Damask (left, middle) is a rich-looking cotton that displays elaborate floral or geometric patterns woven in silk or sateen. Cost: $35 and up for a 60" table round. Pintuck (left, bottom) is lustrous, like taffeta, with rows of tiny squares stitched into the fabric. Cost: $30 and up for a 60" table round.
