How One Cake Came to Be
Like any work of art, finalizing your wedding-cake design can be a complex and creative process. We spoke with the designers at Edda’s Cake Designs, eddascakedesigns.com, a bakery with four locations in South Florida, to find out how they created this Asian-inspired confection. A brushed silver version of the Chinese "double happiness" character from myweddingfavors.com served as the cake topper, chosen to reflect the groom’s Taiwanese heritage. The couple used the same cherry blossom motif featured on their invitations to adorn their fondant-covered chocolate cake. Instead of vibrant pink, the delicate flowers were a pale shade of purple to match the purple-hued invites.
