Alternative Sightseeing
Out-of-towners can see the sights from a classic double-decker bus or trolley, but we suggest a more "alternative" tour offered by City Segway Tours, 877-734-8687, citysegwaytours.com. After a quickie tutorial on proper Segway use, a professional guide will lead you around town on a three-hour tour. Sights include The White House, the Capitol Building and the Vietnam, Korean and World War II memorials, as well as the Washington Monument. Cost: $70 per person. Dates run from April 1st through November 30th. Reservations are required and can be made online.
