Alternative Bridal Blooms
Hydrangeas, daisies, and cymbidium orchids are recent bridal favorites, but you can use more stylish flowers and still achieve the same effect. Floral designer Mayumi Miyata in Irvine, 866-629-8640, mayumimiyata.com, suggests using sweet peas if you like hydrangeas. "These delicate blossoms make them a perfect choice for bridal bouquets. I love their uplifting fragrance, too," she says. If you are a fan of gerbera daisies, Miyata says to try anemones. "Anemones come in rich colors like deep reds and purples, which not only make a strong impression in their own right, but also bring out the subtle richness of other flowers."
