Custom Look for Less Money
Custom-made invitations are incredible—you can select every last detail without boundaries—but they come with a hefty price tag. KenzieKate Invitations, 718-928-3946, kenziekate.com, makes ready-to-print invites that have the same level of design quality we see in made-to-order. This Brooklyn-based invitation company has 11 different "templates" that can be customized to suit the bride’s color scheme and theme without having to create an entirely new invitation each time, which keeps costs down," says designer Mackenzie Sala. And the materials and designs are top-of-the-line: Intricate patterns are printed onto the invites using a combination of offset and thermography techniques, and cardstock is either linen or "laid," which has a more organic, textured feel. Our favorite is the "Manhattan" invitation (left). Prices vary among the different designs, but for "Manhattan," full invite sets are $11 each for 200, and include the invitations, enclosure folders, reply cards, envelopes, enclosure cards and ribbons.
