Romantic Rooms In The Washington Area

Hot wedding night hideaways

You’ve cut the cake and cut a rug but the honeymoon’s still a day or two away. You don’t have to delay the romance, though, if you sneak away to one of these luxurious hotels around town.

Hotel Rouge

For a racy finale to your wedding day festivities, look no further than Hotel Rouge, a boutique hotel with 152 rooms on DC’s Embassy Row, where you’ll be greeted by doormen clad in black leather jackets and served drinks by waitresses in go-go boots and miniskirts. The hotel’s Soirée Rouge package presents you with a chilled bottle of champagne—and a red feather boa. (To extend the decadence even further, you’ll be treated to a chocolate breakfast the next morning.)

Guest rooms are decorated in sexy shades of red—from crimson pleather headboards to maroon walls, burgundy velvet ottomans and magenta lamp shades—and stocked with a free bloody mary bar and cold pizza in case you need extra sustenance for your late-night activities. Best yet, all the decadence doesn’t come with an outrageous price tag; the Soirée Rouge package begins at $179.

Harbor Court Hotel

Once you step beyond the brick courtyard at the entrance of the Harbor Court Hotel, the bustle of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor disappears. The hotel feels like an elegant English country home with its tan, white and peach color scheme, comfy canvas-covered chairs and dark wood tables. You can still enjoy views of the Harbor, however, from the hotel’s specialty suites—which also feature canopied four-poster king-sized beds with down duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets. Marble soaking tubs might help you unwind from your wedding celebrations—or perhaps the chilled champagne that comes with the hotel’s Romance Package ($460 a night) will do the trick.
