HOW TO GET MARRIED IN...Greece

Travel experts Mr & Mrs Smith share their top tips and favorite wedding locations

Need to know
The town hall in Greece will need up to eight days to approve your marriage license. You will need a Certificate of No Impediment issued within the last three months and certified translations of all necessary documents.

Wow, that’s simple. Anything else?
If you are divorced, you’ll need to show your previous marriage certificate. Civil ceremonies can be conducted in Greek or English, but Catholic services must be in Greek. Your wedding will have to be legalized in your home country within 40 days of your nuptials.

Where to stay in Greece
At the top of Mr and Mrs Smith’s Greek wedding wish list is the very A-list Mystique on Santorini, perched on a volcanic summit with its own private wedding pavilion.
