As part of the 2014 Brides Best Honeymoon awards, we're counting down the best places for newlyweds to stay in Europe. From centuries-old restored villas to Kate Middleton-approved luxe hotels, you're guaranteed a luxurious stay no matter which resort you choose.
Halle Berry and Oliver Martinez just did it. So did Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. And Brangelina and Kimye are planning on doing it soon. Pretty much anyone who's anyone in Hollywood is getting married in Europe these days—and they're honeymooning there, as well. (Fun fact: Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth spent their first married getaway at the number one resort on our list.) What's the draw? Think mornings in Parisian cafes, afternoons sipping a cuppa in England, and sunsets lifting twin Proseccos to the sky on Italy's Amalfi Coast. There's just something about a place with history—and really, really good wine—that gets couples in the mood for romance. (Many of the dreamy hotels on our list are centuries old.) We'd be remiss if we didn't give special shout-out to Italy: They ruled the charts this year, taking seven out of the top 10 slots.
How did we choose the Brides Best Honeymoons? A survey was conducted in conjunction with Virtuoso, a network of nearly 9,000 top luxury travel advisors. For more information, contact 855-570-3829.Photo: Getty Images
