If you've never taken a cruise before, you're in for a surprise. Banish all thoughts of soggy buffets and watered-down rum punches. Today's cruise lines offer world-class dining, everything from high-concept French fare to kitschy-fun teppanyaki to, yes, even a frozen solid Ice Bar (that's on Norwegian Epic). A cruise is also an excellent way to hit many destinations in one trip, without wasting time in transit or worse, at the baggage check. Plus, you only have to unpack once!
Nine-day sailings on Silversea start at $3,350 per person, all-inclusive; seven-day sailings start at $2,350 per person. Peak Caribbean cruise season runs November through April.Photo: Getty Images
