When you're walking through redwoods, dining at Michelin-starred gems, and drinking some of the most celebrated vintages in the country, you'll wonder why it took a little thing like your honeymoon to get you to Wine Country. Get set for six days in Napa and Sonoma!

Day 5: Sonoma
MORNING Throw on suits, shorts, and tees: The iconic Russian River, which is shaded by mammoth redwoods, is less than 30 minutes from downtown Healdsburg. Paddle in canoes from Burke's Canoe Trips (the water is peaceful, not raging) and hop out to swim. Before you boat, pick up picnic fare (local chèvre, wine) at the Big Bottom Market, a gourmet deli in Guerneville, so you can lunch along the riverbanks.

AFTERNOON Don't bother changing—you're parking it at the solar-heated H2 pool.

EVENING Mix it up by doing Mexican tonight at Mateo's Cocina Latina, a popular brick-and-mortar spot in Healdsburg. Yucatan-born chef Mateo Granados dishes out unreal (and affordable!) rock cod–stuffed tacones, suckling-pig tamales, and olive-oil guacamole—and don't miss the salted Meyer-lemon margarita.
