A Travel-Inspired Outdoor Wedding\\nA vibrant celebration held at a charming historic villa is enlivened by a travel-inspired theme.\\nLucia and Phil initially wanted a destination wedding in Hawaii or Mexico, but ultimately decided to get married closer to home. Inspired by the many trips they'd taken together, the couple chose a travel theme, with a color scheme of ocean hues.\\nLucia wore a La Sposa gown from The Wedding Day Bridal Salon and teal Jeffrey Campbell shoes.\\nBridesmaids wore aqua dresses from J.Crew, and Lucia's maid of honor wore a floral-print dress from Nordstrom.\\nThe ceremony venue was an easy choice, since the bride grew up attending mass at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Santa Ana. \\"My father is a sculptor and has pieces on display there, too,\\" Lucia says.\\nClusters of succulents decorated the pews; all flowers were by Green Leaf Designs.\\nThe programs were designed to resemble passports; all of the stationery was created by the bride, who owns a graphic design studio.\\nThe reception was held in the courtyard at Villa del Sol. \\"We'd traveled to the Yucatán and loved the live music and dancing in the streets,\\" says Lucia. \\"We wanted to recreate that atmosphere at our reception.\\"\\nGuests' names and table numbers were written on paper airplanes that were pinned to a world map.\\nTables were named after islands the couple had traveled to or hoped to visit. The menu featured a variety of world cuisines; all catering was provided by Café Hidalgo.\\nFor their first dance the couple started with a slow dance, then their DJ picked up the tempo and they wowed the crowd with a salsa number. \\"The dance expressed our love for each other,\\" says Lucia. \\"It was a breathtaking moment.\\"\\nFor dessert, guests enjoyed cakes from Sweet Gems.
