Rainbow Wedding Style\\nWarm weather and sunny skies inspire an alfresco reception shoot styled with modern details in every shade of ROY G. BIV.\\nSanta Barbara-based event designer Kelly Oshiro created this inspiration shoot filled with rainbow-hued reception details. \\"The vintage trend has been very popular and, as a result, we've been seeing a lot of muted color palettes,\\" says Kelly. \\"But I love color and wanted to design a reception that was full of bright hues with fresh and modern details.\\"\\n\\nA long family-style dinner table is enlivened by cherry red Chiavari chairs.\\nThe happy couple's chairs are adorned with festive garlands of rainbow bunting.\\nOne tablescape design featured a striped table runner with matching striped napkins, embellished with bright red pom-pom trim.\\nThis centerpiece design is an easy DIY project: Kelly collected a variety of colorful ceramic pots and filled them with assorted succulents, including haworthia and senecio \\"string of pearls.\\"\\nColorful drinking glasses double as votive candle holders; the arrangement casts a warm glow as the sun goes down.\\nAnother tablescape features a DIY runner created with rolls of Japanese washi tape (adhesive tape made of washi, handmade Japanese paper). Kelly trimmed a 10-foot-long section of white butcher block paper and affixed alternating lengths of washi tape down both sides to create the colorful runner; clear votive glasses are also embellished with alternating lengths of tape. (Washi tape is available in dozens of patterns and colors, so you can customize it to any wedding color palette.)\\nAt each place setting is a rainbow-striped napkin created from a large swatch of fabric from a local textiles shop.\\nBarefoot flower girls carry colorful ribbon wands down the aisle instead of traditional baskets of petals.\\nA simple buttercream-frosted cake is topped with fresh fruit and displayed on a pedestal decorated with another garland of rainbow bunting. In addition, serve each guest a cupcake that's been baked in a cheerful patterned liner ([see slide 7](http://www.brides.com/wedding-ideas/wedding-style/2011/06/rainbow-wedding-color-scheme-rainbow-wedding\\\\#slide=7)).\\nA final take-home treat: Offer guests a refreshing snow cone to enjoy as they depart from the reception; serve each treat with a festive striped straw.
