A Spring Lakeside Wedding in Michigan\\nA resort town on Lake Michigan, where the bride vacationed as a child, is the scenic backdrop for one couple's celebration.\\nAlyssa and Kevin, who were lab partners in college, decided to wed in Bay Harbor, a resort town in northern Michigan where Alyssa has frequently vacationed with her family. She wore a Christos gown and veil, while carrying a bouquet of white roses, hydrangeas, orchids, ranunculuses, and peonies.\\nBoutonniere of spray roses and waxflowers.\\nBridesmaids and flower girls wore J.Crew silk taffeta dresses in coordinating shades of champagne and taupe.\\nThe bridal party prepared for the ceremony in a lakeside house that the couple rented for the weekend.\\nThe Catholic ceremony took place at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Petoskey. \\"The church is so beautiful and didn't need much additional decor,\\" says Alyssa.\\nAll of the wedding stationery, including the ceremony programs and engraved invitations, featured gold lettering and was custom-designed by Elizabeth Grace.\\nFollowing the ceremony, guests made their way to the Bay Harbor Yacht Club. During cocktail hour on the patio overlooking the marina, guests enjoyed Kir Royales—the couple's signature cocktail—as well as an assortment of hors d'oeuvres, including lamb chop \\"lollipops\\" and crab cakes. All catering was by the club.\\nThe reception was held in the ballroom, where tables displayed tall and low arrangements of roses, ranunculuses, and hydrangeas in mercury glass vases and silver vessels. All flowers were by Bloom Floral Design Studio.\\n\\n\\n\\nAlyssa and Kevin worked with wedding planner Danielle Vogelheim of N|M Event Design.\\nDinner offerings included spinach salad and beef tenderloin, followed by slices of the sugar flower-decorated wedding cake by pastry chef Scott Hunter.\\nFor their first dance, the newlyweds chose Ray LaMontagne's \\"You Are the Best Thing.\\" The evening's music was provided by the Sweet J Band.\\nThe couple set up a lounge area adjacent to the dance floor to encourage guests to mingle.\\nFamily members also offered heartfelt toasts. \\"Kevin's father shared an anecdote about Kevin as a child that brought everyone to tears,\\" recalls Alyssa.
