When your inspiration is a rainbow, where to begin? Adeniran knew this much: Her daughter adores Crayola stripes and anything pink, and she herself had amassed a collection of orange glassware over the years—which Delavan deemed a perfect starting point. "Why not build on what you already have?" he asked. And so a fiery combo of fuchsia, tangerine and scarlet was born. After briefly toying with painting the walls, Adeniran realized that the preexisting white was the ideal backdrop for vibrant flourishes: candy stripes on the chairs, vivid pillows on the flax-toned sofa. Yellow details—vintage lamp, leaf-print rug, satin-trimmed drapes—hold their own, yet together with the beige notes minimize the sweetness. "Yellow is more of a neutral than it gets credit for," Adeniran notes.
Gold picture frames are a subtle riff on the room's canary accents.
