A Colorful Wedding at a Historic Estate\\nA historic mansion is the backdrop for a celebration filled with exuberant colors and fanciful details.\\nAli and Bart wanted to host their reception by the water, and knew the first time they visited the Branford House Mansion that it would be the perfect place.\\n\\"We could definitely see ourselves getting married there, which wasn't the case with other venues we visited,\\" says Ali. She wore a lace Marisa gown.\\nThe groom wore a orange calla lily boutonniere\\nThe bridesmaids wore J.Crew dresses and carried bouquets of calla lilies and bear grass by Diane Gaudett of Custom Floral Designs.\\nAs the couple's 120 guests arrived, they were encouraged to help themselves to iced tea and strawberry lemonade.\\nGuests were were offered painted paper fans and parasols from I.B. Intentional Beauty as favors.\\nThe ceremony, held on the mansion's lawn, was officiated by Justice of the Peace Mary Tyler Wiley.\\nCocktail hour took place on the venue's wraparound patio. Later, guests headed into a separate tent to listen to speeches and toasts, then proceeded to the main hall for dinner. \\"I wanted the reception to be elegant but not stuffy, and the bright colors definitely upped the fun factor,\\" says Ali, who planned the wedding with the help of Erica Kates of Ambiance Chic Wedding Designs.\\nGuests were seated at teal-linen-covered tables featuring vibrant arrangements of roses, snapdragons, dahlias, lilies, mokara orchids, and bear grass. Table cards were designed by Adrienne Craig of Admire Design.\\nThe meal, featuring pasta and surf and turf, was followed by vanilla genoise cake, all catered by Coastal Gourmet.\\nAfterward, guests were led back to the tent—which was decorated with colorful paper lanterns—for dancing. The couple and their guests hit the floor to a variety of tunes played by DJ Morrissey of Hank Lane Music and Productions. \\"The crowd loved that he played hits from so many different decades,\\" says the bride. \\"Everybody was getting down!\\"\\nAs a late-night treat, sliders and sweet potato fries were passed on the dance floor, and a s'mores station was set up just outside the tent.
