My wedding is at 5pm and we are starting hair and make up at 9am.  It depends on how far away your ceremony site is, when you have to be dress by, etc..  I have to be dressed by 3:30 at the latest for the videographer.  I just want to make sure there is enough time for everyone and we don't feel rushed!

^^ Yikes.

As a bride-to-be planning a wedding in the afternoon, that's scary.

Yeah, I'm still clueless. Our ceremony is at noon, 45 minutes away from our house. We'll barely have time to get hair done so I'll probably do my makeup myself.

Right now I'm ESTIMATING...

7:00 hair

8:15 leave for venue

9:00 arrive at site

Dressed and "primped" by 10.

10:30-11:30 pics

11:30-12:00 freshen up and breathe!

12:00 get married!

I truly don't know either, my wedding is at 530 and my venue is about 45 to an hour away.  Plus my photographer will be at my house at 230 to take pictures. Any ideas?? Do all of you think hair at 10am is cutting way too close? I wonder.

I'm still figuring this one out (running out of time aren't I?)

Unfortunately I can't get to my hair stylist till 11am grrr (not my fault) and I need to be done by 1pm.

My venue is an hour away.  My wedding starts at 5pm, but I'm getting there at 3 to start taking pictures.

SOOO,

I'm setting my alarm for 7am (that's IF I can sleep at all)

Trying to make sure everyone eats a good breakfast that morning...

At 8 I have to drop one of my BM's off to get her hair done with my cousins (scheduling issue with my hairdresser).

We'll get back to my house and probably shower, do some skin prep, go over the lists of things to bring about 100x... call FH make sure he's not on his way to Mexico (just kidding), check honeymoon bags etc....

10 am I'm heading to the salon (in hopes that she's ready for me early). Between 11 & 1pm I'll be getting my hair and make up done, as well as my mother.  My MOH will be getting just her hair done. The girls who are going to the other salon will be meeting us there to get their make up done as well.

1pm we head back to my house.  We'll have 30-45 minutes to gather everything and the limo will be there at 2pm.

We should be at the site no later than 3:15 where we will get dressed and start taking pictures.

I'm Stressed Just THINKING about it!

November 3, 2007 I become Mrs. Vazquez! If this is a dream, please don't wake me up...

The best way to handle this is to hire a coordinator to help you create a time line for you personally and for your event.  That person can help discuss times with your vendors and get you the information you need to make the right decisions.

If you go it alone, sans coordinator, make sure that you talk to every vendor, knowing what time everyone arrives, what they bring, etc. (even caterers, rental companies, etc). Leave plenty of time for yourself to check on everything before the event begins.

Talking to your make-up and hair artists will also help. Especially if you have other girls, mothers, etc. that will be having their hair and make-up completed that day as well.  You may need several artists.  Make sure they all work well together and be absolutely sure to go to at least two trial run throughs.

Above all else, don't try to look like someone else on your wedding day. I've had countless brides say, "I wish I would've done something more natural, more me".  Be sure it's what you want.

A typical airbrush (with a great artist) will take about an hour (for all make up), especially with trial runs.  And hair takes about the same amount, depending on how complicated or simple you go. Be sure to do a style that works with your hair length and type...not against it.

I recommed water proof airbrushing specifically because it gives you the flawless look without caking and creases (and pasted on with a shovel!).  It also allows any moisture to come out on top of  your skin and be blotted off, without disturbing the make-up.

Best of luck, and feel free to contact me if you need any other information.  I do have several people you can talk to if you need more advice.

Best wishes!

I'd love for some of the already married ladies to come back and tell those of us who are quaking in our designer heels (or ballet flats, in my case) what worked on the day, what took longer or shorter than they thought, etc. My wedding is at 3:30 pm but we can use the venue and brides dressing room from as early that day as we want, and since the ladies who are doing my hair and makeup are coming to the wedding already, we are just going to do everything there at the venue. But I don't know who to schedule when!  I also have to oversee the table decor that another one of my friends is putting together. But if there's nothing on at the venue the night before, we can even do that then. Like I won't have anything else to do...

When is my wedding

On October 31st 2008 I marry my One True Love!
