Why do we marry the way we do?

You know there are so many traditions related to the weddings, the white wedding dress, the bouquet of flowers, the cake, but how do these customs get their first start? Why do we marry the way we do? Everything we do when we say: "I do." is magnificent, from the kiss to the toss of the bridal bouquet. I do love when they cut the cake, my favorite part of the wedding is the ceremony, I feel tremendous delighted to announce you husband and wife. Despite the romantic overtones of weddings today, few traditions began with promise in mind. Ancient wedding were about property, plain and simple, uniting two families meant more land for each, therefore more power. Believe it or not, backing trouble days, the easiest way to win a bride was to kidnap her, if a man got a lady away from her family long enough, well, he was pretty much married to her. Grow old along with me!
