Why do women buy wedding dresses while men rent tuxedos?

Hello ladies, I'm weighing my options (rent vs. buy) and would really appreciate your insight on this: why is buying (rather than renting) a wedding dress important to you? And on the flipside, why do you think the groom doesn't buy his tux? Thanks for your help!

There are women who rent wedding dresses instead of buying. In fact, renting rather than buying a wedding dress does not make the process less complicated. If you rent a wedding gown,you will have to sign a rental agreement and it might include what you are obliged to do in case the wedding dress gets damaged. Therefore, you need to check if there are damages or other minor problems on the gown and report it directly to the person in charge. In addition,you also have the condition of the gown stated in the contract to avoid disagreements the moment you pay your bill. Every girl dreams about wearing the perfect dress for the perfect day.So if you rent a wedding dress, you have to be extra careful on your wedding day/night as the dress isn't yours.Renting can be a much more affordable option, but then you have to take into consideration that there may be some rather extreme limitations on what you can do in the way of altering it.However, If you buy a wedding dress, then you have much more freedom when it comes to alterations.

Thanks for the reply! Wow, that is a lot to consider. I hadn't thought of how limiting renting a dress can be or how I could end up damaging it while renting. Or worse, renting a dress that was already damaged! I still wonder why men don't buy their tuxedos, then -- renting seems like such a pain if you have to be so careful on your wedding day/ night. Almost seems more worth it for him to buy too ...

Wedding in a woman's life may be on only once and a wedding dress is even more particularly important.Women want to be the most special and unique in their wedding, so purchasing a wedding dress is worthy!

There is an old saying about wedding tradition that something old, something new,something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.Each item in this phrase stands for good-luck for the bride.If she has all of them on her wedding day,she will live a happy marriage life."Something old" represents continuity with the bride's family and the past. "Something new" implies optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead. "Something borrowed" is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage will carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item means the bride can depend on her friends and family.Generally speaking, the bride will choose buying a wedding dress as something new. And they usually wear some wedding accessories like necklace or earrings as something old. It is just tradition.
