It seems a bit excessive when you lay it all out like that. I have an engagement ring but when I see all the the facts cost and figures I get the feeling that the meaning has been lost a little.
I thought the little fact about the ancient Egyptians and the ring finger was a lovely piece of info. Thanks for the post it was very interesting.

I actually really like this post!!!

Some of the facts I know offhand, such as the average dollars spent on engagement rings and the three-month average search period. I didn't know that 73% of all engagement rings are made in white gold...I knew the percentage is high but this puts the bigger picture in perspective quite well.
