My Fiance and I have been having the discussion of having live music or using a dj. I like the thought of having live music its more intimate and sets the right tone. He however just thinks it will cost to much.

I have entered a contest to have Brendan James sing at my wedding, through mywedding.com, I hope I win!

If I don't win I still want to find live music or a singer for my wedding. I like the sound of Brendan James and want something of that nature for my wedding. No swing or jazz bands! What would you recommend doing?

Dear Ann,

If at all possible, I much prefer live music. It is thrilling to hear the singers and musicians perform live, much more than recorded music. I also like the idea of supporting local talented musicians.

It's expensive, though. If you cannot afford it, then go with a DJ or iPod playlist.
