hheey! I just got engaged on Christmas Eve this year and have ALWAYS wanted our wedding to be in september. We set the date for sept.10,2011 which is cute cause it will be 09.10.11 =) EIther way a royal blue for your wedding would be really pretty, considering the sept stone is a dark blue. I am thinking totally fall colors, I will be having an outdoor wedding so I want the BMs to have red, orange, brown, green dresses (maybe) and the groomsmen to have ties that match the dresses. since I am having it outside I want a small bouquet I really just want the focus to be on us and the gorgeous backdrop. My fiance's family owns land that is surrounded by trees so its going to be gorgeous. =) BUT I really like the color royal blue though. It would be pretty for a sept wedding. =) good luck

My best friend got married in October last year. She did a purple for the dresses and the guys wore an orange that match. It was soooo beautiful! Those fall colors are so pretty together. Its always nice to hear about other real weddings and what they did around the time your getting married. I love your date...that is really cute! We havent decided yet but my fiance and my brothers birthdays are both on the 16th of september, so they keep saying that day but I'd rather have it another date(other date to celebrate hahah ).

Congrats Ladies!!! I also got engaged on Xmas Eve and my fiance and I
are looking at a Sept. 2011 wedding as well esp since we will be paying
for the majority of the wedding ourselves! I was thinking of a rich
purple and maghoney theme wedding. Fall is my fave season and purple is
my fave color so I decided it would be nice to mix the two colors in.
Now I'm just having issues looking for venues in NY that wont charge an
arm and a leg!!!

Hey! I was originally planning on our wedding being in February 2012 but then I started to worry about the weather and I decided to change our date. I don't have an exact day yet but it will be in September.

Hey ladies! I just ordered a paper cutting set online. I am planning on making my own invites and favor tags and escort cards etc. to save money. Anyone else going to make their own invites and stuff?

Hi everyone!

I really like this invitation. It was one of the ones here on brides.com in the Spring invitations story. I'm planning on making my own invitations so I would have to re-create it but I think I could.

How is everyone's planning going?

Hi Ladies!!

I'm a Sept 2001 Bride too!! We got engaged just before Christmas and will be getting married 9/30/11!! I orginally wanted 9/10/11 but Friday prices tempted me too much! A Friday early in the month wouldn't work for the 8 million teachers we have in our wedding party (MOB, MOG, MOH, 2 BM's!)

Our colors are going to be grey with purple and silver accents (maybe some pinks in the flower arrangements). I have our Venue picked out and I'm currently looking for our photographer.

Hey all I guess I got a popular date, that's why I've booked pretty much everything already. Yup we are 9-10-11 too! Joel picked it so he quote "will never forget our anniversary" lol.

We got engaged in October. We knew September would be great cause we are in Phoenix and lets face it its still summer weather out here until sometimes mid November. So since we chose Prescott for our location it worked out great! Cause of the higher elevation in there it will feel more like a spring day than summer heat or chilly fall weather. Plus it is the month in between our birthdays (his is August mine October) so i like it cause we will be the same age instead of me being older. ha ha I know its a wierd thing to care about or notice but I like that it worked out that way :)

Anyhoo our colors are a lot: pastel yellow, pastel pink, pastel orange (a really light orange), cream, and black. It sounds kind of overwhelming but the colors are used very well together, it looks very elegant and clean. I haven't drowned everything in my colors, I don't like weddings that are to color oriented, mine are more accents, light touches of the colors with more emphasis on the nature around us at the ceremony and the historic building and images of downtown prescott at our reception. The colors just add to whats already provided by nature in my case. Its all very light, soft autumn I call it. Or transition to autumn I've had it called by a florist.

He and his best man will be in suits his best man will have a white shirt black tie, Joel will have black shirt white tie. My maid of honor and I are going dress shopping for her when I am on summer break and can fly up to see her. I am letting her pick out of my color scheme but whatever style she likes, I want her to be happy and comfortable, still needs to be approved by me though ha ha. My daughter Katie will be in a very puffy pastel pink and creme dress with a halo of wildflowers in my colors.

Our rehearsal dinner is Hawaiian theme cause Joels grandmother grew up there on an army base until she married to his grandfather when he got stationed there. So since they are throwing it for us thats which direction it went and I am really happy about it, seems like it will be a fun theme. The youngers (as my family calls all the family members under 40) are doing paintball bride against groom side before or bachelor and bachelorette parties two days before wedding. We are having a fairwell brunch on the Sunday after and horseback riding picnic the afternoon before the rehersal dinner. There will be a golf outing to for the men I think (im not planning that one) well... pretty much it is a whole wedding weekend, I wanted to provide a lot of activities, I wanted my guests to have a mini vacation!

Don't make a man a PRIORITY when he sees you as an OPTION. (my advice to any woman at any age in life)

Just wanted to give you a heads up that paintball two days prior to your wedding is probably not a good idea. The groomsmen in my friend's wedding did that and one of them was nailed right in the forehead. He had a big old goose egg right on his forehead for the wedding day!

Ha Ha good to know. I did think of that immediately when we decided this. There seems to be looming threat of injury in every bride against groom side activity we thought of though. However paintball is just one of our favorite activities, its something people can get really into and have a lot of fun with thats why we landed on it. We did look for lazer tag but there wasnt one in the Prescott area. I'm not that worried the paintball place we spoke with told me they could provide all the members with pads and gear to cover every inch of our bridal party.

So I figure if we're padded head to toe and have the helmets on we'll be ok. If not and one of us gets beaned, I think it would make a funny story. But thats just me.

Hi everyone!

I attempted to make my own invitations like the ones that I posted above but they did not come out good. I will be using a DIY kit that I just ordered from ebay. And I also ordered envelope seals from ebay today.

You pick the letter (obviously), the font script and the ink color. They were only $3.49 for 50 seals!

We are planning a September 10, 2011 wedding. Seems to be a popular date I'm really not a fan of fall colors so we are thinking of doing navy blue and white. We also plan to have the wedding outside. I really have no idea where to start with planning. I'm a full time nursing student and I work part time. Any hints on where to start and when to start? Also, we are attempting to win a wedding right now. Money is extremely tight so we entered a contest. If you want to help, just view the YouTube video we made of our love story and proposal. We need all the views we can get before May 14 so go check it out
