Argh!!! Need to lose weight fast any ideas!: Posted: Apr 21, 2009 4:39 PM; Hiya girls,

I'm really new to this, I've got just over a year to my wedding but my mum's is in 5-6 weeks, does anybody have any ideas to lose weight fast without piling it back on?

Eating nothing but grapefruit, or limiting your diet to only a couple types of food is NOT the way to go. You will not get proper nutrients and vitamins, even if you take supplements. Supplements are NOT a replacement to a good diet.

Eat small meals throughout the day, cook your own food, don't eat out and don't buy ready made meals and do lots of excercise (or have more sex :P).

Or else have you considered following a vegetarian diet for a while as you try to lose weight? I've been a veggie for 15 years now and I have never had a problem with my weight. I have stayed 9stone since I stopped growing. I put that down to reading food labels (so I know what I am consuming), having to plan my meals, cooking from scratch and not using meat products. Since moving in with FH, he has reduced his meat intake (just cause I don't know how to cook meat..lol) and he has lost weight.

Don't starve yourself, and please don't start adopting unhealthy attitudes towards food. Try and lose weight the proper way (diet and excercise). You will feel better because of it.

almost 4 years here... 6 months for FH. :D It's so great to actually know exactly what you're eating, even if grocery shopping can get expensive.

Of course you may also use some pills to help. But you will still need dieting and exercising even if you take the pills.

I'm doing the P90X videos and they work VERY well!! but you have to commit an hour of your day to it. I've slipped some and yet still have noticed a big difference just after a month.

But it's just diet and working out thats getting me to this point.
