Winter Bouquets? Nosegay?
Posted: Dec 17, 2008 6:43 PM

For my December 2009 wedding, I am considering doing a nosegay style bouquet. I like the modern, tight look that has become common lately. Does anyone have any pictures of blue/white/silverish ones? I'm having a hard time finding ones with blue that don't look too springy.

I have very little knowledge about flowers, I just learned that the style I've been looking at is called a "nosegay."

Any idea for types of flowers to use to create this look that are available during the winter?

I went to google and typed in "winter bouquet photos" and took a browse through the picture gallery and found these:

I'm sure there are more too because I only got to page 6 of about 18. hehe :) What do you think of these?

Beautiful thank you! That second one gave me the idea of maybing doing all white/creamish roses with adding blue swavorski (spelling?) randomly among them.

I'm going to respond to my own post with pics, just because I'm not on my normal comp to save them...haha

I like just the ball, not the feathers.

I had a winter wedding and I decorated with white and blue topaz. My centerpieces were a candle with white feathers wrapped around the base and blue swarovski crystals peaking out. My bouquet had white peonies (when they were tight, they looked like little snowballs), white stephanotis (I used white pearls, but you could put the blue crystals in them), white winter berries, and white feathers. I loved the way it turned out. It was funky but still very pretty.

This one could be beautiful. Use all white flowers and a blue ribbon to wrap the base.

The flowers in this one actually remind me of snowballs, too.

You could do a bouquet of all feathers. This one has black too, but I think it would be beautiful in all white. The different sizes and textues of the feathers gives it a flowery feel.

linz: Thank you for all of the pictures. I love the picture of you cutting your cake with your bouquet laying on the table!

I dread when it actually comes time to have to make that decision! There are too many beautiful ways to go!

Xxoo,
I'm sorry, I have no idea who made that bouquet. I found the image online doing a google image search. I cant even find the original image anymore. I'm sorry. I would try talking to different florists. I don't see any reason they couldn't make this for you. It's an arrangement just like floral bouquets. My florist didn't have any problem getting creative with feathers in my arrangements.
