my ears!

hello everyone! my ears have given me problems ever since i could remember. i only wear my hair down or sometimes half up half down cause i'm self conscience of my ears. everyone tells me that they aren't bad, but when you're teased about it in elementary school it kinda sticks with you. i was just wondering if anyone knows of a kind of tape or glue i can use to secure my ears back. i am wearing my hair half up - half down and i just want to be sure that that night i'm not worried about my ears sticking out. please help if you have any ideas!

I don’t know of any tape or glue, and if there is such thing I think it might be uncomfortable to use them... if you are comfortable with your hair down then I think you should just wear it down.

I would have to agree with November. If you are too uncomfortable to wear your hair half up then I would go with it down. You don't want to be self-conscious on your wedding day.

If you were to glue or tape your ears I think it would make you more self conscious because you would be worrying about the tape or glue working for the duration of your wedding. You shouldn't be worrying about that on such an important day.

I hear you.  The first thing my grandmother (dad's mom) said when she saw me was : oh damn, she's got Andy's ears.

The thing is Rachael....on your wedding day, you should look like you.  A more polished version maybe...but YOU.  If you never wear your hair up, you will look like someone else entirely.  Wear it kind of like you usually do, only with more care put into the styling than you ordinarily would.   I'm sure that they are not bad, but they make you self conscious, and this is a day when everyone IS looking at you.  No need to make yourself think "Oh goodness, are my ears sticking out like Happy's?"  (It doesn't matter that they are not.  If you feel like they are, then you're not feeling beautiful.

Maybe wear your hair in a half up style that will still cover your ears.

Maybe have this style but covering your ears just a bit more:

Just let your stylist know that your uncomfortable with your ears and you can find a way to style your hair elegantly to hide them. Good Luck!

Wow...I love the 3rd look that LinzZ posted. I also completely agree with Cat Standish.

I can't help but think back at all those weddings I've been to where I've thought:

 "Wow. She looks different"

No bride wants to look "different" on her wedding day. We want to look "beautiful"

I hate my ears too! I can't wear a ballcap because they stick out like wings. FH says I'm crazy to think that. Needless to say, when I found the dress, it needed an updo. And you know what, done right, an updo can also minimize the ears. Talk to the person who normally does your hair and see what he/she thinks. It may be more in your head than anything (my ear issues may be- still not sure: years of teasing has an impact).
