Hey all! I think I found my dress. It is from David's Bridal. I only tried on dresses there because I didn't think I would feel pressured to buy and then  I ended up finding the one I love! I haven't bought it yet though because I have about 4 dresses (Maggie and Alfred Angelo) that I want to try on. So once I try on a few more then I will see if I still love the Davids Bridal dress.

We live in Los Angeles, but will be getting married in Ventura or Santa Barbara since that is where I am from. We don't know our budget yet. I am trying to trying to figure out how much I can save over the next 10 months. My fiance will be matching whatever I save. I am thinking maybe $10,000- $15,000. But that might be way more then we actually have. I don't really know! I guess I will know more once I figure out my savings plan. My dress is going to be a gift from my Mom so that is definitely taken care of. =)

Necolei- Yeah, I went to davids bridal too. I didn't find THE ONE either. I also went to a smaller salon that carries Jasmine's and I didn't really find any there either. I'm sure that I will find a Maggie dress that I love though. I've loved her dresses from the second that I saw one in a magazine 8 months ago. Let me know if you find anything on Saturday! I'm excited for us

mrsschultz- That dress is really pretty! Dress shopping is soo much fun !

FH and I have been saving up to pay for our wedding. We are going to be paying for the majority of it. We plan to have about $7,000 dollars saved up by August. So far we have saved $3.500. His parents are paying for the food and my Mom is paying for the dress. That's all we have figured out so far.

Hey all september o9 girls

So I am new to this whole thing but I am trying to have a small laid back wedding and we have decided that Jamaica is the place! (that is about it) we have not decideded on the exact location yet but it has to be on the west side of the island. I think I picked my dress but it is kinda hard because I don't want it to be full length. I think I will allow 2 shades of light for the girls and a darker marine for the boys. All the places we have looked at so far can only be booked 1 year in advance so I cot a few days to figure it out. We will be getting married on a tuesday so our guests will have not have to spend as much on air and hotel. So my day is September 29 2009. I don't think I will be having any date twins!

Anyways it is nice to know you all are out there. Oh I am tring to keep it around $24k

 talk to you all soon

Crystal

I'm excited for us too. I will try and remember my camera so that way I can take a picture of the dress if I find one. I hope so cause I don't really know of too many other places that are cheap to get a wedding gown.

Oh my goodness I went wedding ring shopping with my FH yesterday and I found the ring I want after going to about a dozen other places its absolutely gorgeous. I will have to get a picture of it so you ladies can take a look.

Yeah, I hope to find one too. This is the only place that carries Maggie Sottero's in my area. All of the other places are at least an hour away! I hope that they let us take pictures. I know that some places are weird about it and don't let you. I'm glad that you found a ring you love! Ugghh....I'm SO nervous about tomorrow. We are going to try and book our venue again for the 3rd time. If we don't get it tomorrow I'm going to be so bummed and disappointed. Keep your fingers crossed for me please! :)

I hope you get that place too. I could not imagine what I would be like if I had to book my place like you do. Or if I had to wait or find a new place none the less. Anyways I'm sure you will get it. It sounds like you have a good plan to get the place booked. Please let us know how it goes.

There were 4 other people there trying to book the venue this morning! Apparently when there is more than one person there at 8am they hold a lottery drawing. So, they put all 4 of our names in a bag and pulled one out. WE GOT IT!!!!!!! I'm so happy and relieved. We also found out that the price is going to be less than we thought it was going to be and that is why it is so competitive. It's $250 for 3 hours and $85 for the fourth hour. We thought that it was $250 for each individual hour and we were still happy with that. So, it was a good morning. Plus, we get to try on wedding dresses tomorrow Necolei! Take pictures if you can.Laughing

I will try to remember my camera if not I guess I always have my phone.

That's Awesome that you got the place. Know you can relax and just enjoy all the fun of shopping for the dress and flowers and all that fun stuff. I'm so excited for Saturday that I am bringing 5 people with me, and we are going to hit at least 2 stores.

I hope that all you brides have a good weekend.

Yeah, I'm still so excited about getting our venue. I think I'm even more excited because we got it by entering a lottery drawing. It makes me feel like it was really meant to be. :)

So, I hope that dress shopping went well for you today. I didn't get to go. :( I had to cancel my 12:30 appointment because I've felt like crap all day today. But I think we are going to reschedule for next Saturday. Let me know how it went. I hope that you got to take pictures!

Oh by the way....can anyone assist me with my ticker problem? I used to have no problem with them. But now I can't get any of them to work. I have tried 4 or 5 different websites and have been trying on and off for the past few weeks. I have tried all of the codes that they give you. Any ideas?

My budget is $7000 for everything except the honeymoon, which FH is taking care of entirely. We're paying for it entirely on our own and refuse to go into debt in any way because of it...therefore, our budget is subject to downward modification if we have some emergency or something happens with the house that takes priority. That being said I really hope that we manage to maintain that budget because I'd hate to have to cut things.

Anyway - Flowers I am having sunflowers, blue hydrangea, and white daisies (though the white daisies are really only going to be in my bouquet) The bestwoman & my mom are growing the sunflowers in their yards, the hydrangea we actually have in our yard, my mom's yard, and we have a couple of other friends that grow it that said we can have the blooms since it is right at the end of the season anyway, and we're probably going to order the white daisies since they're a bit more difficult to grow. Our floral budget (thanks to the gardening skills of our friends and family) should be pretty small, which is a huge relief.

When is my wedding

Ok I have a lot to reply to so first off projectmrscole I believe you need to click on the HTML button and than paste your link in there. I hard the hardest time for a while too, but once you hit the HTML button it should pop right up.

I can see how winning it verus just getting it is more exciting. I think your right its just ment to be.

Ok I went to Amandas Bridal and than another store and I tried on 2 dresses at the other store and decided that I was done. Left there and went back to Amandas Bridal and ordered my gown. I don't have pictures yet. I should get them from my mom by tomorrow. If you want to see the stock photo its on the Davinci website www.davincibridal.com and if you go to the gallery its the 1st dress on page 9. Dress #8251. The front of the dress is not too thrilling but the back is awesome. I am ordering it with a red lace but basically the back laces all the way up. It going to be perfect for me. Will try and get the pics tomorrow.
