My sister didn't wear a veil, she had baby's breath in her hair and it looked great.  It fit her personality and her style.  I'm probably going to wear just a one-tier veil set lower below my hairdo.  I tried one on up high in the bridal store--I like that look on other people but it didn't look right on me.  It's definitely a matter of what fits your personal style!
