Ok that is tooo much! I would X off the pasta station and just add the vegie lasagna to the main menu and only 2 sides and bread. I would add the fruit salsa to the apps because that sounds really yummy and do 3 deserts i vote for cheesecake, truffles. and apple pie something for everyone. And i would cut 1-2 appetizers out. You do not want your guests to fill up, then not eat anything else.

Lets not all get caught up in our wedding. Remember we should not only be planning for a our wedding but more so we should be planning for  our marriage. More so then fighting over shades of peach, tuxs, cake flavors and only god knows what else. Because the next morning it is over, guests are gone the flowers have died the cake well lets face it 1/2 of it was tossed out. Cinderella is still a maid, the limo is now a pumpkin And there is life to face ok after wild crazy monkey sex for 7 nights straight, lets not kid out selfs there are priorities After its all gone there's still bills to pay and a job to go back to

This meal sounds more like a RECEPTION dinner! Too much food if you ask me.

Second, not to be rude, but if you want opinions on a specific thing, you have to specify. Like - do you want an opinion on the types of food, the list in general, the amount of food? This thread could go anywhere....

Now what type of engagement party do you want. The ones im use to are cocktail like a vast array of apps from hot cold and desert at the end, and cocktails. You dont have to do a full dinner, nor is it usual expected. I would use the entree's as apps see if the chef you are using can cut those into sample sizes so you have the best of both worlds and do passed appetizers which i find much nicer then a buffet

Whenever you are picking food for a menu, you should consider the following:

Food Allergies - big issue with my family and FH's family

Vegetarian or Vegan options if you know people who are

You need some "safe" items - food you know people will and can eat - and then a few "fun" or creative food items

Think of how much food people will ACTUALLY eat and what will go to waste, which at your current menu, will probably be a lot, even if you are having a large amount of people...

And I credit this advice to my wedding planner. Trust me, its worth the investment, esp with your budget.

At my engagement party, we are having just desserts.  You don't need to have a lot of food... I would cut it down to 2 appetizers, 2 sides, 2 salads, 1 entree, and 2 desserts.
