Well ladies, I feel like I'm on borrowed time. I finally hooked up my computer and was able to connect to someone's wireless internet within the apartment building...

It's been 4 days of hot weather - perfect for moving in. I haven't gotten much wedding stuff done, but I did get my driver's license updated (name and address change). I was going to look into flowers last week, but that didn't happen. I'll see how things go next week. It should be easy becuase I know what I want.

With the new apartment, I'm finding it hard to not buy new things. It's just amazing what you suddenly need that you wouldn't have thought twice about before, but now that you're in a new place you HAVE to have it...Needless to say saving for the wedding has been put on the back burner 'til we're settled in.

How have all of you been?

Hey guys!!

KPM- I took a look at your pics.  I really like the pic of the Calico Rock.  And I must say that your FH is absolutely adorable.  I rode on the back of my step-father's bike once and I went out with my SH a few times, when he had a bike, and I really did not like it.  The turns scared me to death.  My SH kept saying that I had to lean with him when he went around a turn but I couldn't.  Is it less scary if you're in control of the bike?  I don't know how you do it KPM.  I would be a nervous wreck.

***UPDATE***

My SH and I had the chance to sit down tonight and FINALLY make the decision of what we are def. doing.  We are going with August 21, 2010, two days after our tenth wedding anniversary and we are going with the park where we got married.

I am SOOO happy that it's over and done with but I'm a little frustrated with all of the changes that we've been through too.  Oh well.  So, we're right back where we started at the beginning.  And we are completely on the same page that if nobody shows up then nobody shows up and it's their loss.  I can't keep trying to accommodate everyone.  We're going to let our families know over the weekend when we see them.  They have two years to get their butts organized.

And I have two years to get stuff done which I secretly LOVE.  I am so calm right now because I feel like I have worlds of time to get everything done.

Yah!!  I'm happy.  Good night ladies!!  Smile

Hey kroberts!!  How is your new place?  I know exactly what you mean about needing things.  Not to mention all the decorating stuff that you see while shopping.  I have to restrain myself from buying too much of that stuff.  I could buy a new framed mirror or a new vase and then I HAVE to re-do the room to go with it.

Well Kroberts, your a step ahead of me, I still haven't updated my license. And it has been over a year. LOL

Nicole-glad you made a decision. And I am totally not suprised you would redecorate a room to accomodate a vase!

I got an email from a BM saying that she is not sure she can make it. SHe sounded like it more likely not going to happen. Bummer, no MOH, one BM out,my brother not coming, out one FG and FG escort. I am about to throw in the towel and say screw it.

FYI............ I added more pics to the slide show.  :)

kRobert - I hate moving!  You are a brave brave soul!  :)  I do understand though about now that I have a new place - gotta make it my own.

Nicole - I have a bit of a different perspective.  I grew up riding with my dad - still remember my first ride at age 4.  Been riding my own for over 28 yrs.  Only man besides my father that I've ridden 2 up with is FH.  It did take some getting used to - as I was VERY used to being in control of the bike.  I was horrible in some ways.  Used to make him laugh and still does.  If we are 2 up and doing twisties I am right there with my chin on his shoulder.  I have to see the road and how we are hitting the curves.  LOL

I need to get going on wedding planning this next week.  Last week got nada done!

I do love the new place. DH is right, it's on the small side, but for the 2 of us - it's great!

KPM - Oooo! I'm so jealous.

Hey everyone! I haven't been around the last couple of days. We had a flurry of activity, but I think we've got the families all sorted out. I've got our family welcomes, event schedule and maps printed. I also started the "big clean" Wil anyone care about the state of our laundry room. No. Did I go and clean and organize it anyway? You bet.

Kroberts I hear you on the shopping. I didn't bring much stuff with me when i moved and EH really didn't have much stuff himself ie kitchen stuff. We went to Bed bath and beyond 5 times in two weeks! The staff started recognizing us. It was almost embarassing.

KPM the pictures are great. Thanks for sharing.

Nichole has a date! NO more changing!

Dawna I am sorry about your BC. I know how disappointing it is to have people not show. None of our friends can make it and only one of them even bothered to RSVP. Really is it that hard to check the no box, put a little saying "Wish I was there. Good luck" and put it in the mail? The stamp is already on the envelope. Oh two of them RSVPed by email. Give me back my stamp then! lol. Just kidding on that one.

Nichole the comment about the decorating is making me chuckle. I don't know if I have ever started with a vase, but I am sure I have started with some sort of accent piece and had to build from there. I sometimes also get dressed by selecting shoes first.

Hey guys!!  How is everybody?

Tanis- I'm always getting dressed by picking out my outfit to go with my shoes!!  LOL

Dawna- Sorry about your BM.  That stinks.  I hope that she is able to come in the end.  How are you feeling?

kroberts- I'm glad that you like your new place.  Our first apartment was the tiniest thing that you ever saw.  That was in 2000.  Sometimes I look around our house and think where did all this crap come from?  LOL

KPM- You have a def. riding advantage then!!  Since you were 4!  I don't think that my SH would really care if I ever rode with him again or not.  I'm terrible.  With every turn I'm trying to jump off the bike!!

I re-did our livingroom at our old house because I found a paint sample and I just had to have our livingroom that color!  It was a pale aqua and I loved it at the time.  Of course our livingroom set did not go with that color so I bought new furniture.  My SH could of cared less.  He always says- "Do whatever you want."  Probably because then I'm leaving him alone!!  LOL

Have a great day!!!

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!

How is everyone today?  I hope you guys are all doing good.

I found a new bakery yesterday.  Their price for a four tier round cake is $40 more than walmart's price for a three tier cake.  And this new bakery uses dowels!!!  And they will deliver to our site.  YEAH!!  So, I'm getting my cake!!  Now I just have to find one I like.  I have to order it about a month or two before so I have tons of time for that.

I am seriously considering ordering a dress from ebay but I am a little nervous about it too.  It seems like all the ones I like are made in China.  Do you really get a dress that looks like the picture they show?  I need to do some more research on this I guess.

I also have to start figuring out what I am going to do for my son's birthday party.  His birthday is in October but I always start in August.  I need a theme and a color scheme.

Hey mermaid!! How are you?

Hey Dawna!  Any news on the house?  Do you have a lot left to do for your wedding?

Hey Tanis!!  How are you?  Just getting ready for your wedding in almost two weeks?  AAHHH!!!!

Hey kroberts!!  How's it going in your new place?

Hey KPM!!  How are you?  Have you gotten any more planning done?

Have a great day ladies!!!!

Started back at work last night.  Working until Sun morning - nites.  Not much planning done.  Did do a bit of research when I had to stay awake though on how much food we will need.

kroberts - hope you start to feel more settled soon.  *part of the reason I don't like moving is I am a home body - like to get in a place and stick there............

Tanis - before you know it....   the whirlwind will be done.  Then your going to be wondering what to do with all your time!  :)

Dawn - Hope everything is going well - waiting to hear good news about the house.  crossing fingers

nite nite

Hi all-

Kroberts- I know what you mean about moving and wanting to make it your own.  I think that's the fun part about moving.

I finally managed to get a photobucket album of the style of dresses I'm thinking about.  The Lazaro was the first dress I saw in the style I was picturing, but that's way out of my prices range.  (2 kids to put through college shortly.)  I'm thinking it will be something more similiar to the Wtoo.  I'm open to suggestions about other brands I should check out that might have something similiar.

Here's the link, I hope this works ok:

Hey ladies. So I am continuing with my cleaning. Is anyone going to look in my oven? nope. Did I clean it anyway? You betcha.

Katmu I think both the dresses are very beautiful. I like the less expensive one just as much as the one that is out of your range. Have you tried any dresses on? This makes a big difference. The dress I bought I would have never picked for myself but the bridal consultant convinced me to try it on. I swore I was not going to go strapless.

Hey Nichole I pick shoes then bra. lol. High heels and demi cups do not go together! So you are going with cake rather than cupcakes then? After searching for cupcake tree holder thingys with you, I think you might be better off with a cake.

hey KPM saw you in the other thread. Hope you are having a good sleep.

Dawna where are you?

Hey guys!!  How's everybody doing?

Hey Tanis!!  You must be really busy right now.  You have family staying with the week before your wedding and the week after right?  Bless you!!

It looks like the cake might just be easier to do.  They make it, bring it to the park, set it up and make sure that it looks nice.  I was probably going to make the cupcakes myself and then have to transport them to the park and set them up.  I think that the price of the cake is wonderful in that I can have piece of mind about it.

Where's Dawna?  Hopefully doing stuff to get the house.

My SH has made his decision.  He is staying with the job he has now.  Two of his crappy managers are leaving by the end of the month too so that will make his job a little less stressful.

For my son's birthday in October I'm going to do a jungle theme.  And he wants a cake in the shape of a snake.  I'm going to have to start working on that today.  I'm going to basically draw a jungle on paper and then tape it to the walls in the diningroom so the whole room looks like it's in the jungle.  Make sense?

I have to design the invitations, figure out the decorations, figure out how to make a cake that looks like a snake, plan the games and the party timeline, figure out the favors......  I'm going to be really busy for the next two months.  I even had an idea to make palm trees out of balloons, using the same technique you would use to make a balloon arch.  I have it drafted onto paper now I just have to make a prototype to see how well the design actually translates.

He's really excited about it.  I'll def. post pics of the party afterwards.

And I'll just say a big hello to everyone!!!  HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!

Hi!  I'm Franshawn & I'm in VA.  I am planning to re-new my vows 5/22/09.  We are doing this b/c my mom & her side didn't attend the 1st one due to a family dispute & we are now on one accord.  My dad also has prostate cancer, so I want to do it while I still have him.  How is yours coming?

Hey ladies. Two weeks today! So don't be surprised if every day I start with my daily rant! So last night SIL calls and says her husband has been sequestered (sp?) for jury duty. Guess what date? Just guess. August 22! So I think well it would be sad if he had to miss it assuming, SIL & son will attend on their own. Hmm nope SIL would not attend. Guess why? Guess. Her husband would not be able to take care of himself!!!!! He is 30 years old, a husband and a father, but he couldn't take care of himself for a weekend? Come on now. Heres a can opener, heres some spaghettios have a great weekend. I could see if she didn't want to drive by herself with the 3 year old, sort of, but her parents and one of her sisters all live in the same town and all will be driving here around the same time. But no she wouldn't catch a ride with them BECAUSE HER GROWN ASS 30 YEAR OLD HUSBAND DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO OPEN A F*ING FRIDGE! His mommy and daddy live two blocks away so I am sure they, or at least his mommy, would make sure he would not starve to death. So SIL says "we will come the week before" Oh yah thats what we want, company for the whhhhooollleee week before the wedding while we are running around like idiots and then say good bye the day before the wedding! Yuck. I think I would be in tears. Of course this news comes 2 hours after I have printed the programs.

On the plus side we got our wireless set up today so our computer doesn't have to stay in the guest room which may or may not have guests in it before the wedding.

Welcome Cedoria. I hope I didn't scare you on your very first post! I am two weeks out from my ceremony so of course all hell is breaking loose. Most people on here are doing a second ceremony because of issues with the first ie I married 6 days after immigrating to USA (can you believe they let me in with this potty mouth?) so we didn't have any guests, reception etc. We are doing it all over again with guests, as long as we don't strangle them all. lol. We have someone who also had simple service due to deployment, a death on the day of the wedding, eloping and someone who is having a legal ceremony but just thinks we are the coolest so she hangs with us. Right KPM?

Nichole the jungle theme sounds absolutely adorable. I think the snake cake wouldn't be that hard to make. Just use round cake, scoop out center then cut into 4 pieces and go

(
I would use leftover cake to make a snakey tongue. For decorations I would try Oriental Trading Company. I got all the luau decorations there, and there are a lot of them. Heres what I found for jungle

 http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/search/processRequest.do?Ntt=jungle&requestURI=searchMain&Ntk=all&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&N=0

Okay I think I will go work out my frustrations in the gym. Happy Friday everyone!
