A lot of great ideas! I really love the film strip save the date cards! I think that's so cute. It reminds me of young kids on a date and they slip into the photo booth to act silly...

April 11th is Saturday, April 12th is Easter Sunday, April 13th is Monday...

April 11, 2009 is the big day!

We have decided on April 25th also.  I guess hope that we can get the date with the venue that I really like because we have not put down the deposit on it yet.  We should be doing that in the next few weeks.

I have purchased my dress and veil.  I was looking at shoes tonight because I don't want the typical shoe color.  Our colors are blue and green with a Caribbean Theme so I want either blue or green shoes.

I have decided on a few BM dresses but nothing has been ordered.

I have a ton of ideas for the ceremony and reception but I have only purchased one other thing, the flower girl's basket.  I got it on sale from JoAnn's on a pre-Easter sale.  It is perfect, it is blue and green. :)

One of my cousins is a minister and will be performing the ceremony, so we just have to take the pre-marital classes.

My family knows a photographer but he travels a lot so I have a few companies in mind for back up.  We know a DJ that is a friend of the family.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the cake or flowers.

No contracts have been signed so all of this, besides my dress, may change by April 25th.

I can't believe that we have almost a year, time is flying by.

Thanks!  It's because we orginally wanted to get married at the animal park, kinda like the zoo.  Neither one of us can stand the woman in charge out there so we decided to look for another site.  This one is perfect, since I'm a teacher and it's an old school house.  We decided to just incorporate the animal theme into the wedding.  We're going to have different animal print fabrics in the middles of the tables and we're going to do a slideshow of all of our photos from the park over the years.

A few of you mentioned that you're getting married on April 13th.  That is not Easter, Easter is the 12th.  The 13th is a Monday.  Just an FYI.

I know that Easter is April 12 I ment to put that but got to excited and pushed the wrong button but thanks for telling me because I would never have noticed. lol So sorry stfballplayer7 but your good on the whole easter thing. lol but it is so cool how our weddings are so close. I am kinda weird on my colors I really like them but it seems like alot of peolpe are using them. I wanted to add blue in it but Fh said it would be way to patriotic, sence it is red white and blue. so know it is red white and green. so does anyone know what theme they are having?

If there is such a theme, ours is the geriatric wedding!  LOL.  There's a BIG age gap between FH & I (I've already decided he's my "something old!").  Most of my family is elderly, as well.   So, it'll be a party for the old folks!!  :)

Hello! Another April 25th here! I'm excited it's almost a year away and I'm sure the time will fly by.

Our wedding is going to be in downtown Chicago so I had to start planning things waaaay in advance. I already have the church and our rehearsal dinner set. We are almost set with a reception site but still getting that situated. I'm slowly getting everything else figured out. I am thinking about having light blue and chocolate brown for the colors. There's so much to plan!

Have you all already asked your friends/family to be in your bridal party? I wasn't sure how soon to do that.

Good to hear from all the April 09 brides out there!!

Chishell I asked my MOH on valentine's day! Shes been my Best friend for 13 years!

I dont think its too early. Im only going to have my MOH and my FH's little sister as bridesmaids, and my FH is going to have his brother as his BM and my younger brother as a GM lol. Confused yet!! :P

But i dont think its too early. It gives them time to save money for thier attire-and it also is nice to just have them to talk to about all the juicy details!

So no i dont think its to early lol :) atleast for my situation :P

Hey 77ChevyGirl!

While we are on the subject heres another idea i found! Its so cute!! I have no idea how they did it! Im pretty sure they had to ask for permission from the theatre  lol but here it is!

If you took a cute picture like this you could always use it to make postcard save-the-dates!  This is what this couple was gonna do I believe.

Just another idea lol

:)

I love these save the dates. I saw the ones that are the photobooth one in brides mag. in the back and I was wanting to do it. where are you finding all the save the date ideas Soon2Be.? When are we suppose to send them. My theme is English Picnic and Japanese Tea. It was just tea party but Fh didn't like it so I put Japanese in it and he loved it. so always compramise. lol I asked my bridesmaids as soon as he proposed but alot of them have backed out or got unintensionally kicked out. ( had alot of bad falling outs )  so far it is my sister and my two best friends but I need another one. Has anyone thought about asking their future sister in law? she is my Fh's sister in law so she is going to be mine to but we are not close. just throwing out ideas.

HELLO ALL!  4/4/09 is our date.  What's done so far.

Wedding and reception facility booked here- http://www.grandplazaflorida.com/st-pete-beach-weddings.html  We're also staying an additional 4 days after the wedding as our "mini-moon."  We're not doing a big honeymoon till Sept for both our birthdays.  It will allow us to relax and save ourselves lots of stress and money by not flying out somewhere the day after the wedding.

Favors- hand painting wine glasses (his fam is Italian so they are BIG on personalized items).  5 done- 70 more to paint.  lol  Table markers- emply wine bottles re-labeled with our info and the table name stuck in the cork.

Cake and centerpieces included at the hotel.  Adding more candles and teal/white sea glass to table.  Cake I found online and photoshopped to my style and color -

Dress bought the week I got engaged. Here- http://davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2837&prodgroup=10 Veil and tiara- EBAY $20.  Best deal ever!  Looks like a million bucks.  Tuxes were done two weeks after that.  FH and I had 1/2 coupon that would have expired so he got that done asap as well to lock them in cheap!!!

Photographer booked at a steal.  Engagement photos included and will be shot April 13....just two weeks!

Just need DJ, florist, and BM dresses.  They are picked out, but waiting to have girls buy them in gase of any weight loss/gain.

Oh, and colors are tiffany blue (but a little more aqua) and Ivory.  I used to be a marketing director so my goal was to have everything booked 1 year in advance so we could pay for it little by little (made sure that was in our contracts) and not have to fret over money or take out any loans.

Can't wait until I marry my Love!

That is COOL!  I really like that!  We definitely need to do something memorable like this.  I'd like to play off our height difference (I'm 5'1" & he's 6'9"!)...But these are some GREAT ideas!!  Thanks!!!  :)

Hey DennaAllred!

I find all these ideas browsing through blogs/websites! Im an internet junkie!! :)

You can send the save dates as early as six months ahead of your wedding--not to soon but also not too late. I know though--that some people do send even a year in advance! so its really just up to you!

You definately should ask ne one you want to be your bridesmaid! If you feel close enough to them and want them there right next to you through the whole process then go for it! :)

I LOVE your theme idea!!! You definately must have japanese parasols!!

 Gorgeous!! :)

Oh i cant help myself--heres some more pictures i found that i have to share with you! :)

 programs! Cute huh!

Just a few things i found :)

Hey Everyone!

Like a couple of others, our date is April 25, 2009 and we'll be getting married on the southeast side of Indianapolis.  Funny thing is that up until this thread I didn't think anyone else had that date.  Silly me!

What we have done so far: the church is booked, i know where I want to have the reception but haven't put a deposit down yet, I'm going to look at dresses with my mom and FMIL in two weeks, I know who I want to be the photographer but haven't booked her yet, and my mom is going to do all the flowers.

Happy planning!!
