We've narrowed down our ceremony/reception choices to 4 sites... well actually 3 because the 4th would eat up a bigger chunk of our wedding budget. sigh Why couldn't I have been born rich instead of beautiful? winks & laughs

I hear you there...eventhough we love where we are having our reception there were a couple of other places that we loved too that were just way too expensive. It's crazy how much some places are. I know it's still early but has anyone looked at dresses yet? I'm hoping to loose some weight so I've just looked at dresses online but I'm dying to try a couple on.

Hi October 2009 Brides! I am a OCTOBER 24TH BRIDE!!!!  I got engaged April 26th and have just started looking at reception places. We were going to wait, but I called a few places and they were BOOKED! So then I realized it wasnt too early. We have about 3 places in mind, we are looking at a fourth this weekend and hopefully will get something booked. As for the church, our preist had knee surgery so I have to wait a week or two to call him, I called last week so Im going to call again tomorrow, I just want to get him booked so I know for sure we can get married on that date!

I have not tried on any dresses yet, but like Chucksgrl I am trying to lose some weight first and will probably do that around the year mark, so that gives me about 6 months!

Congrats MisOctober. The church was a big thing with me too since I didn't want to book our reception until I booked the church for fear of my day being booked already. The reception site we decided on would not let you change the date without loosing your deposit so we had to make sure the church matched up with the date. Now I'm just trying not to worry about the priest not writing down the correct date. I've been having nightmares of that lately.

Ugh, I've been having dreams too. Like we had the reception and everyone is eating and dancing... then we go to start the ceremony (backwards I know, it's a dream) and just about everyone had gone home! :(

I've been looking at dresses for a few months trying to figure out what kind I want. And I'm still looking. That's part of the fun! And who isn't planning on trying to lose weight before the big day? I know my man & I need to drop some weight for our general health, that and we are planning a trip to FL in the fall and I want to go to the beach! Cool

Well I just booked my church today! I'm so happy that we got the date we wanted, October 24th! Now I just have to hope the reception place we choose has that date open!

Hello everyone! We are getting married on October 17th, 2009....and we started planning about a month after our engagement on September 21st of last year! We are most likely going to get married in a vineyard. I'm way excited! Congrats guys!

YAY a thread for me! We were just engaged a week ago. We have set the date 10/3/09!!! That is about as far as I have gotten as far as planning goes. OH! I do have my bridesmaids and maid of honor in place.

This is so fun and overwhelming at the same time!

Oct 10, 2009 is my 'new' wedding date! We were going to be 12/08 but last Thanksgiving my aunt died and I really wasn't in a festive mood after that. So my FH decided on his own our wedding date! I didn't really want Oct after my future sister in law actually took my Oct wedding idea, but if it makes my FH happy than it's good enough for me!!! I can't decide on what colors to use. I don't want to use orange since I can hear my MOH and bridesmaids now... "I look like a pumpkin I'm sooo fat." I dunno what I'm going to do w/these girls already!!!!

Two words Fall Colors

You can use orange as an accent color, and it doesn't have to be a bright pumpkin orange either.
