October 2009 brides
Posted: Jan 2, 2008 12:49 PM

I know it's over a year away but I wanted to see if there are any October 2009 brides out there. FH and I are getting married on October 10, 2009. Has anyone started planning yet? What have they gotten done. We have booked our church and reception already and now that the holidays are over we are starting to look at photographers. How about everyone else?

Our's are chocolate brown, candy apple red with some cream. Is that all you have planned or have you done anything else?

October 31st! We are having a Medieval themed wedding. I don't have and particular colors picked out, any of the dark jewel tones will do. We are currently looking for a rustic location for our ceremony/reception.

I can't necessarily fill the spot for the 24th, but we are hoping for an Oct. 2009 wedding.  Nothing has been made official yet.  I think I like the colors of claret/crimson with some gold/yellow accent.  I guess maybe we should start really thinking about a date!

Well, having a set date gives you a goal but there is plenty of time for that if you are wanting a fall '09 wedding. You should start looking at where you want your reception and if you are looking for deals, some places offer reductions in fees when having an event in their off season... Nov/Dec/Jan.

We're getting married on September 26, 2009...so almost october! We have definitely started planning. Everyone has told me it is a smart idea since the fall of 2009 is pretty much still open with churches and reception halls. We have the priest booked, and will be booking the church and putting down a deposit on the reception hall tomorrow. We pretty much have our initial guest list printed out. We have ideas of who our photographer and viedographer and DJ will be. So, we're trying to focus on all the basic plans and getting them out of the way for now. Then, we can work on all the other details later.

Lori it's a really good idea to start early like you said. We actually ran into some reception sites being booked for our date. One woman told us that October is the new June when it comes to weddings. We started looking at reception sites in October 2007 so we were really shocked that some were booked 2 years in advance. When we found the one we loved we booked in within a week just to make sure we got our date.

So far I have not come across any problems with my date being taken at the venus I have toured... but then again I'm looking for a particular type of site for our theme wedding. :)
