Are my colors too weird?

I am planning on having my wedding coolors be Green Apple and a lilac color. My mom thinks the color combo is hideous. My mom is making my cake and promises me that the cake will look absolutly terrible if I don't change the color scheme. And she says it clashes. I think it looks fresh and funky. Should I change it or should I just tell my mom to back off?
