Getting Married in Vegas?

Hello Ladies! We're planning on getting married in Las Vegas in Spetember of this year, at Luxor. We really haven't done much yet (booked the chapel, I've looked at dresses, we found rings we like), I'd like to hear any opinions/experiences from any other Vegas brides, especially ones who married at Luxor. We're not going out there until May and my fiance is worried I won't like it. (He thinks I'll think it's cheesy and trashy.) Thanks!

I got married in Las Vegas and would do it again in a heartbeat. You can have a beautiful, elegant wedding in a casino hotel, or a cheese one on the Strip. It's all fun, and they make it really easy for you.

If you want to avoid cheese and trash, my advice would be to avoid the "production line" chapels.  Yes, some of them look nice, but the areas they are in are horrible.  So, best stick to hotel chapels, country clubs, etc.

When I visited the Luxor Chapel two weeks ago they told me they are closing for good in July 2007.  They referred me to Mandalay Bay.

We've booked our wedding at the Flamingo.  It's outside, secluded, with an ivy covered gazebo.

I got married at the Paris Hotel Chapel on 4/21/07.  We visited about 10 chapels before we made a decision. Too bad the Luxor Chapel is closing.  It is anything but cheesy. It really is one of the most beautiful strip hotel chapels and the price is reasonable.  I think a huge drawback was their location, the entrance was nearly at the food court.    We got married in the larger chapel at the Paris Hotel. We were very pleased, from the wedding coordinator to the photographer.  It was everything I had hoped for. Another nice strip hotel chapel is the Treasure Island (TI).  Let me know if I can be of any help.  Kimberley Arnold

Thanks for the tip SoontobeMrsWitt, we've moved the wedding up to June 16. I'm still a little nervous and have a lot to do, but I'm very excited. It's nice to hear from people who got married in Vegas and liked it.

Hi,
I read that you used Paris chapels. Could you tell me what you tipped your coordinator and others? How did it all go?
Thanks for your help.
