The Ray Romano written show is called Men of a Certain Age and its AWESOME, totally worth watching and one of the few shows that both DH and I watch together, and that he loves just as much as I do. Its really about men, and male friendships, and centers around 3 male friends of mid to older ages, and their lives and how they intersect, etc. I love it. Its subtle, and funny, but in a subtle way, and also quite dramatic. Just very real. Romanos character is based on himself - he is a divorced guy wiht kids who is a gambling addict, its a compelling character. Anyway, its on Monday nights for an hour at 10 on tbs or usa or one of those, I forget which, BUT you are way behind because season one just ENDED like 2 weeks ago lol. So I guess you can find it on hulu.com or something maybe if you look there.

Actually, onHouse, I think its an organ, not a piano, but no matter, its a minor storyline, just another funny one with Wilson and House revolving around buying furniture for their condo. I love them and find their friendship the most compelling part of that show. LOVE THEM.

Yes, there were two women in the finals on Idol once. I THINK it was Diana and Fantasia, or Diana (she had blonde hair) and someone else, I cant remember, but I know it was two women.

OK, so I"m not like a little behind, I am MONTHS behind. :) Maybe it's on netflix to rent. Or maybe soon.

I totally forgot about that season, fantasia season, but yes, it WAS that one. Anyway, I'd like siobhan and crystal this year. I just can't make up my mind between mike, casey and lee for my other pick.

Sure hope tiny tim goes tonight.

Last night, was the first night, I"ve actually liked Didi. I don't hate her anymore. But Lacey? She just bugs me. It's that 'thin' voice thing. do NOT like it, plus, she totally slaughtered Stevie.

Biggest Loser - halfway through the season, and Im finally STARTING to give a crap about some of the contestants. Only some though. The rest still bore me, but I did shed some tears on this weeks episode. Usually when they all go home to their families halfway through its pretty emotional and It was, again. I enjoyed the 26mile stationary bike challenge, and was glad at who won it. And I was glad at who went home, didnt care much about Lance so Im glad it was him and not Michael who really really need to be there. so many of them are starting to look really good now, and the thinner ones are almost at the point where they should stop losing too much more weight. The bigger ones still need to be there of course. I still like Sunshine and her dad ONeil, that guy is too cute.

AMERICAN IDOL: Im just reposting my weekly review from my Facebook page, because not a lot of people come in here anymore, so Im going to write up a review there from now on, and then repost it here, for those of you that arent on my Facebook or dont know each other outside this site. So for anyone who cares, heres the review I wrote of Idol episode....

I didnt comment on the results show, so Ill say now that Im soooo happy Paige went home AND that freakin WHAM! song opening number medley thing was beyond embarassing.

AMERICAN IDOL REVIEW - The Sucky Miley Cyrus Episode ]=556835813&p[=390507756824" title="Send this to friends or post it on your profile.">Share Yesterday at 11:20am | Edit Note | Delete

So Im going to start writing fun reviews of the IDOL episodes on here. Why? Because Its enjoyable to mock all the bad on the show, and also great to take ANY opportunity to slam Ryan Seacrest more publically than I already have. My hatred for him knows no bounds.

But lets be honest. The real reason I love watching this show is for the raw talent that comes along every once in awhile and surprises you. This year, for me, its Crystal Bowersox. I know this because of the most simple thing: EVERYTIME she starts her performance, my husband and I CRANK our tv volume. Yes, she seems to exude stank feet and B.O. and other classic hippy qualities right through the tv screen, but thats part of her charm. She knows exactly who she is, and shes amazingly talented.

So we begin. Last night the episode started by scaring the living crap out of me. All the contestants were lined up on the stage as if they were being held hostage, and then a GIGANTIC MOVIE SCREEN SEACREST HEAD appeared behind them, barking out his usual drivel that always ends with the annoying "THISSS................ Is American Idol!!!!!" (followed by that annoying music that my husband imitates frighteningly well.)

Just when I thought things couldnt possibly get any worse than a Max Headrum-like Seacrest across my tv screen in HD, they did. Because at that moment, Seacrest announced that the "guest mentor" tonight would be Miley Cyrus. The words kept piercing my soul like O.J.s knife ...guest. mentor. Miley. MENTOR!!!??!!! I know its for ratings and for young dumb pre-teen kids, but cmon now, have they finally lost their minds? In what way is Miley Cyrus a MENTOR? What the hell is she going to teach these people? She is HANNAH MONTANA for Christ Sakes. And never mind her singing voice's mediocrity, have you heard the girl SPEAK? She has one of the most irritating voices Ive ever heard. I really wanted to throw myself out my 3rd story apartment window everytime she came on, but Im too fat to fit through the screen. So instead, I watched ....

The tension between Simon and Seacrest is getting worse. And yes, I do think its real, because I can FEEL Simons contempt and anger toward Ryan. I feel it because I have that same anger. One of my favorite moments last night was when Ryan got a bit too close and Simon shooed him away like a pet dog:"Stay. Stay. Now sit. Good boy." So condescendingly funny. And speaking of Simon, anyone else noticing that anytime there is a camera shot of him, KARA is also in it like a tiny little insect in the corner? She is a big ole horndog this season. First she practically mentally rapes contestant Casey James during auditons and the first couple episodes ever, and now she is all over Simon every night, draping her whole body around his every chance she gets. Her FACE is right next to his all the time, and their chairs get closer and closer with each camera shot. It looks like Randy and Ellen are seated in a different stratosphere altogether. I dont know what it is about Kara, but I dont like her. Wait, I do know what it is. Shes annoying, and she resembles a cross-eyed Muppet.

Now, onto the mostly awful performances and "mentoring" Miley:

1. LEE DEWYZE: Sang The Letter. Through most of his performance, he looked like he was going into cardiac arrest or moments from a stroke with all the flailing about and such, but I did think it was a pretty good choice of song for him and I have to say I liked the version musically. His voice sounded good and it wasnt awful. But Im not pickin up the phone for that. Well, I dont pick up the phone for any of em honestly, but lets just say hypothetically that I DID vote, I wouldnt vote for him.

2. PAIGE MILES: Or, as I like to call her, "Ole Bug Eyes." Seriously, Im at the point now where I just automatically fast -forward her on my DVR (does anyone really watch this show live??? If you do, youre nuts to sit through commercials and endless boring Seacrest after-performance ego-banter) So, I fast forwarded her like usual, until I heard all the hilarious comments from the judges about how AWFUL she was. So of course I had to go back and hear for myself. Let me just say the combination of the horrific Phil Collins song "Against All Odds" and her singing it in about 19 different keys, each one being off-pitch, was mind-boggling. For the love of pitch, send this chick home already.

3. TIM URBAN: This kids mere floppy hairdo existance pisses me off. I dont even know why really. I think he was put here to annoy me. Anyway, he sang Queens Crazy Little Thing Called Love. My husband and I kept singing it with him with new lyrics "this thing...called votes...it keeps me here... I suck...cant sing... but girls...they keep me here...crazy that Im on this show..." All the slip sliding on the stage and the hand-grabs with the dummies in the audience, what was that about? Ick. So cheesy cheesy cheesy. I felt like I was watching Davy Jones performing at Marcia Bradys prom. Yuck.

4. AARON KELLY: Okay, remember when I said that Tim Urbans mere existance pissed me off? Yeah, well, strike that. The fact that Aaron Kelly lives pisses me off more. When Ellen said "what are you in the 3rd grade?" that was very funny. He looks like he is eleven, and grins stupidly ALL THE TIME. And Im sorry, but watching a child sing Aerosmiths Dont Wanna Miss A Thing is just extremely silly. I CANNOT take it seriously. And by the way, what the F was he wearing with the collars and sleeves from 1974? I have no idea why they liked this performance. It was retarded.

5. CRYSTAL BOWERSOX: Turn up the volume, Crystal is singin Janis. There really are no words for how good this performance was and how incredibly naturally gifted this girl is. Just listen to her. Shes magnetic and just, well, awesome.

6. MICHAEL LYNCH: I think hes a close second to Crystal. I would LOVE to see a Crystal/Michael finale. His voice ... like buttah.

7. ANDREW GARCIA: First of all, he still looks like a giant walking loaf of bread to me. And secondly, can we PLEASE stop talking about his goddamn version of Paula Abduls "Straight Up?" Seriously, they bring it up on EVERY episode. Enough. Yes, it was very creative, it was his moment, but its been over for almost a month now and he hasnt done anything else worth talking about since then. The reality is that he is a good, talented performer who got lost in the Top 12 and isnt standing out anymore. Lets all move on. Oh,and while rehearsing with his MENTOR Miley, he kept forgetting the words to Heard It Through the Grapevine. Really? Im sorry, but thats just sad. These kids are always forgetting lyrics to songs that have the simplest lyrics on earth. Gee, Im surprised that the genius Miley Cyrus couldnt help him with that problem. Or any problem. She was pointless.

8. KATIE STEVENS: Eh. Im tired of them telling her to be younger. What do they want her to do, show up in a diaper and sing Daddys Little Girl? In any case, Im really bored with her. She DOES come across like a Beauty Pagent Contestant and although she has a really nice voice, its really unoriginal and I cant see ever buying her albums. She sang Fergie's ....eh...does it really even matter? Yawn.

9. CASEY JAMES: Ill give this one about a B+. I really like him, and not just because hes beyond cute in the same way Brad Pitt was beyond cute in "Thelma and Louise" all those years ago, but because his voice is really good. And because he is really very cute. And good. And by that I mean cute.

10. DIDI BENAMI: Hmmm. I go back and forth with her. I think her voice is so unique and sometimes fantastic. Then other times, like on this song, it just sounds all over the place. I hope she stays though because she has a lot of talent and is waay less annoying than some of these other twerps.

11. SIOBHAN MAGNUS: Sigh. Okay. I know everyones making a huge deal about how great she is, and how unique and different, and she is. Really. But, as Kara says "heres the thing..." The first time she did that scream/piercingly high note at the end of a song, it was very impressive and organic. It felt like it belonged in the song, and it sounded incredible. The second time she did it, it felt forced and pushed, and like "where the hell did THAT come from?" It was unnecessary. The third time she did that note, last night, it made me want to punch her in the face repeatedly until her silly, too large glasses fall off her weirdly shaped head. Seriously. Its enough already with the high note. We get it. You can sing Mariah-style at the drop of a hat. Its just not that impressive or appealing when you do it in EVERY SONG. Aside form that, I thought her performance of Superstition was actually quite good. I love her voice and she is wonderful at giving the audience something different each time. Sometimes the whole quirkyness thing feels a little bit pushed to me though.

And there you have it. How was Miley Cyrus as a mentor? She sucked. I cant name one thing she said to those people that had any value whatsoever. She basically gave them lots of generic advice like "Yeah you sound great, just believe in yourself more and youll be golden!" or "Wow youre really good. Just go out there and dont suck as much as me and youll be great!" Okay, that was actually good advice.

Who is going home? Well, hopefully itll be between Ole Bug Eyes Paige and Tweedle Dork and Tweedle Dorkier (Tim and Aaron.) Or the loaf of bread. Its hard to say.

Jumps up and down I saw half of the Idol show tonight, but if the review shots were right, then I'm SO glad I missed the first half of the show.

Basically, singers 5-10 were the ones I saw and if the recaps were right, they were the only ones worth seeing tonight. (Granted i haven't been watching it, but that's just my take)

Andrew Garcia I liked. Not great but respectible.

the 1 yo chickie, Karie or something, was good. Maybe it was a little too much song for her, but I still liked it.

Lee whatshisname - AWESOME. Really liked it.

Crystal whathername - OMG I totally see what you all have been talking about.

Young little Screech lookalike - Wasn't horrible - seemed unsure of the song.

OK Kelley - I watched it.

Biggest Loser: ha ha Melissa went home. She was really annoying. Her gameplaying left her with no friends at all on the ranch and backfired on her ass, and now shes gone. So HA! I really love Sunshine and her dad and am starting to root for them both, they are so sweet and I love their relationship and emotion for each other. Oneil has the biggest heart ever.

Anyone been watching new season of South Park? Only 3 episodes so far, 4th was just on, and each one was brilliantly funny. The Tiger Woods episode was hilarious, especially the Tiger video game. The one where they kill Sarah Jessica Parker just about made me laugh my head off, and then last weeks with the puke fest -genius. Tonights is about facebook, so I cant wait to see it.

Ive been writing an IDOL blog over on Facebook, so if anyone wants to see it here thats not over there, let me know and Ill copy paste it. Just that noone comes in here anymore to talk IDOL so thats why I stopped posting my reviews in here and started doing them there instead.

IM SO EXCITED FOR GLEE TO START !!!!!!!!

anyone watching Celebrity Apprentice? I find it so funny. Cyndi Lauper is insane in a good way, and Sharon Osbourne is great. And Blgoyavich is such a douche and fun to watch.

Melissa is a beeyotch and I hated lance too. Glad to hear she went home. We hadn't finished watching yet, sometimes it takes awhile to get through. I was really irritated she won that challenge and came back on cause I was super happy lance was gone, and then, she's back. yuck. I just figured she shouldn't be there way way back when she GAINED weight. If that's her attitude, get her out of there so the people who really WANT to do it, can stay.

Saw part of a new southpark episode.

Will watch Glee some, DVR it but get way behind watching things.

Biggest Loser

I am so glad Melissa got tossed. Her BS speech about using her to pick people off was ridiculous. Let's be honest. Drea isn't exactly a monster herself, so the point made no sense.

I love Sunshine and O'Neal. They are just so sweet. I am really hoping for the Daris, Sam and Sunshine to be in the Final 4. I would love for O'Neal to be there. But I don't think he can make it. For the most part, I am completely indifferent to the rest of the people on the show. I started out really liking Michael and hoping he would do well, but I don't know. I am just not feeling it any more. I am glad we got to see Shay on one of the commercials. She looks like she is doing amazing. And we get to see Danny next week- YAY!

I can't wait for Glee to come back either. Although I am mighty annoyed the day of the airings was changed. I used to have to watch it online because I already had two shows records at 9pm on Wednesdays. Now NBC pushes SVU back to 10pm and what does Fox do? Switch Glee to Tuesdays. WTH?! Why in God's name would they do that? Now I still have to watch it online because of Biggest Loser and Lost. Stupid Fox.

Bride I knwo how you feel. I have like 2 or 3 nights per week now where Ive got the dvr taping 2 things at once, and then you throw Yankee games into the mix, which DH watches nightly or whnever they are on, and we only have the dvr on the good HD tv lol, so half the time I end up having to watch Biggest Loser or other stuff in the other room on the crap tv with no dvr....which means commercials .....ick. Annoying. And they keep coming out with new shows I like lol. Is anyone else watching Jamie Olivers Food Revolution OR Undercover Boss? I love both shows!!!

house is going to be good Monday, I think his dad is on the show or something...

Anyone been watching DWTS?? Its really the only thing I am watching lately even though its SUCH a disappointment this sseaon IMO. I dont know what Kate is still doing there as she sucks horribly and will never get better. Its awkward watching her and I kid you not my computer (i watch online) FREEZES every single time shes up on the dance floor and when I pass her part it goes back to normal!! And really all the "im such a celebrity and I live in hell every single day with all the paparazzi and crazy life" is so stupid as NO BODY REALLY CARES about her and her life.

And Jake?? Lord I feel bad for Chelsie - you can completely tell by their body language how much they cant stand each other lol. Or more like how much Chelsie doesnt like him and Jake cant figure out why shes not fawning over him. This isnt the bachelor Jake - you're not getting coddled and no body cares for your drama and cheesy one-liners.

I do like Nicole and Erin for the girls, and Aiden, Chad, and Evan for the guys. Nicole and Derek have a great relationship that will take them far as dance partners. I dont think Aiden is as bad as the judges make him out to be, Chad was most "impressive" since I didnt expect the dancer in him to come out like that, and Evan - well hes a skater.

I kinda with they would focus less on drama when choosing their stars and also stay away from people like Nicole and Evan who DO have a leg up on the others with what they do for a living. I thought the point was to turn a non-dancer into a dancer.

MrsS,Im watching. I must admit I am quite enjoying the trainwreck that is Pamela Anderson, and how she gives these ridiculously porn-like looks to the camera ALL THE TIME ...shes hysterical. Kate Gosselin is the most annoying, nagging bitch I have ever seen in my life, seriously, how anyone could stand watching her Jon and Kate Plus 8 crap is beyond me, she is sooooo annoying. All she does is whine, week after week. About paparazzi, about her life, about how this dancing thing is sooooo hard, waaaahhhh!!!!,and then she is constantyl trying to make herself a victim like "oh poor me, Im such a busy tired mommy and the media follows me everywhere...." Um, YOU created it dumbass! Go home and be a mom, spend some damn time with your kids instead of using their existence to keep riding off your 15min of fame. She is AWFUL. My husband has a HUGE crush/lust for pro dancer Cheryl Burke, and I think Chad is HOT!!!!, so we are both rooting for them for completely different reasons. Go Chad!!!!

Haha funny cause I think I have a girl crush on Cheryl Burke lol. And Im straight! Ah, how could I forget to mention Pamela. And her remarks about not having a man in her life right now and how her and her partner have amazing chemistry and shes really needing it right now. Gawd. I cant believe the judges chose her for the dance in the results show! Sophistication my ass - she was just twirling around and giving her partner (forget his name) instead of the camera her porn star eyes with the bright blue sparkly crap on them that made her look like an alien. She was ready to jump his bones by the end!

Aiden went home - I was sad - I was more sad when he got a little choked up - hes not any less of a man in my eyes for it :). I dont think he would have won (im thinking chad right now. or nicole)but he defenitely would have improved alot more if given the chance unlike Kate who will always be stiff as a board. Oh well.

I loved the guest dancers (esp the ones with the violins!!wow!!) but who the heck was the singer. Maybe its just me but Ive never heard of her...

NOw going to catch up on my Idol watching.

Just watching Idol right now.

I never cease to hope that Ryan falls down those stairs. How lame with his "WASSAAAAP WASSAAAAP WASSAAAAP" to the front row girls. How do you guys feel about Adam being the mentor? I dont think hes comparable to Elvis but he IS original and I think hes got a good career ahead of him. But I do have to say I can handle the eyeliner and all that but not the berry lipstick....ugh.

I loooved Crystal shes one of my favs and I think she should win just because she has such an original and distinctive style and we need that in a winner! Its like CArrie Underwood with country - we need originality in the winner!! But man what a powerful voice.

Andrew - well I cant help but always remember what Kelley said about him once - the loaf of bread with glasses lol. It always comes to mind randomly when I look at him lol. Thanks kelley. Well I was kinda sitting there watching his performance wishing it would go up in tempo. I think he might be in trouble unfortunately - I like him though!

Tim - hes not going to win but I like what Adam had him change in the song - the ending - defenitelly the right touch to the whole piece. Too bad Tim didnt take it. Hes just not going to win.

Lee - Adam was right on with his suggestion here too. I always forget about Lee as soon as hes off the camera and he really does have a great voice!! I love the slight raspiness in his voice and I loved his arrangement and he did seem to enjoy being up on stage this week which was nice to see.

Aaron - he actually had some good moments! I liked the arrangement and I liked when he did his growling thing but when he was swinging his skinny little hips I felt a little awkward lol. I think if he got into it with his body language and facial expression a little bit more it would have influenced his sound a bit more. He wont win either though.

Siobhan - I love her but for some reason I didnt like the song for her. She had a nice moment or two but I didnt like the beginning. I think she should ignore the judges suggestions to hold back because I absolutely love when she gets all into it the way shes known best for. It makes me mad when Simon said that he thinks shes lost her confidence and who she is because if it wasnt for them and their contradictory critique then half of these contestants, including her, would be doing a lot better. Im glad she said something about it though.

Michael - I LOVE his voice. I didnt really notice him in the beginning of the show but hes defenitely grown on me big time. He kept it simple but he threw in a falsetto and didnt take away from the song it was great. I wouldnt complain if he would win.

Katie - another example of the judges ruining her. So she sang to them about it lol. Good girl. I think she did a great job but Im wondering if its too late. I love Ellens comment haha - its a very horny song.......a lot of horns in it!!

Casey - Ryan should just announce the next singer and not possibly get them all messed up but being an idiot flirting with the underage little girls He did good I thought. I kinda just have nothing for him and Im not sure if thats good or bad....

Man, I have been away. I was on stupid jury duty all week and didn't really have time to post.

Biggest Loser - I am loving Sunshine, Sam and Daris. I was so happy Drea went home. She was useless. I like O'Neil and Koli. I have to say at this point I am indifferent to the rest of the cast. I want Michael to do well, but I don't want him to win either if that makes sense. I LOVED when the contestants dragged Jillian and Bob into the mud. That was hilarious.

DWTS - So far, with the exception of Kate Gosselin, I am liking this season. My favorties are Evan and Nicole. I think they are really talented. So far, I am not surprised any of them went home. Kate sucks, but its not like she is staying and talented people went home. Aiden, Shannon and Buzz were all terrible anyway I wouldn't be surprised if the producers were tweaking the numbers to keep her around.

Is it me or are the judges being really harsh with their scores this season? I think Chad and Erin are getting screwed, especially Chad. I don't think his dancers are as bad as the judges make them out to be. I also think they low balled Jake on his tango. Up until he slipped I really enjoyed it. MrsS - I noticed that Chelsea looks uncomfortable around Jake too. I don't think she hates him; I think she is afraid Vienna is going to kick her ass. Speaking of Vienna, has anyone else noticed we really haven't seen her since the premier?

I was surprised by Pam Anderson. I totally see what you are saying Kelley about her always trying to seem sexy and sultry, but I expected to her to be terrible and ended up really liking her rumba and cha-cha. If I had to make a prediction right now though, I'd say the final two are Erin and Nicole.

GLEE

I LOVED Sue's vogue at the end. I thought it was a little slow for a premierm but I still enjoyed it. I feel like there is a lot of good stuff coming though.

hopefully that worked. Let me know if it doesnt for some reason.

Bride: Im soooo with you on Sunshine and Oneil, and by the previews for next week, looks like poor Oneil has an awful week, his brother dies!!!!, how horrible, and he kind of goes nuts since hes very super emotional. I love that guy. Poor thing will probably end up going home next week. I was glad Drea went home too, shes so boring of a personality. When they all went after Bob and then Jillian appaeared in the doorway and ran away, sooo funny.

I agree about Pam Anderson actually. Shes actually pretty good, BUT, shes also a trainwreck to watch, i. e. soooooo entertaining for all the wrong reasons, hilariously stripperlike, and those expressions.... oh my. And the things she says, its like she thinks shes in a porno, just watch her face and whenever they ask her a question she gets all breathy and gives some weird sexual answer. And they picked her dance to spotlight because Im convinced Bruno and the old man are jackin off under that desk everytime she dances.

STILL havent seen House or South Parkt this week, hopefully will watch today. Noone else is watching Food Revolution or Undercover Boss?? Love both of those shows.........

I do think Pamela is good but she (and the judges) take away from that by focusing on...all that other stuff lol. I also think the dances shes done so far have been kinda up her alley in a way so Id like to see her do some other things. Nicole and Evan are great but it just frustrates me that they do have a dancing background and I just find it not fair. Chelsea does seem to reallly not like Jake and I can understand because I feel like hes being too much of his "the bachelor" self and I personally would get annoyed with it too. The judges are being EXTREMELY harsh this early on in the season I think. But the people that have gone home so far are pretty much people that would have at some point before the finale anyways.

Kelley I rarely go on my FB (crazy, right) so if you'd like to copy/paste them here I promise I'll read :P
