SoCal, I am having those tall vase centerpieces you were talking about for my wedding. The vases are crystal, 23" tall and it cost between $150 - $200 each. They will consist of different flowers, but mostly peach, yellow roses and green hydrangias with greenery spilling over the sides..Also she is putting those submersible lights in the arrangement or vase to light it all up... VERY beautiful.. brought tears to my eyes when my florist showed me an example set up for me...
Are you buying the vases for the centerpieces. My florist is letting us use his vases but they arent exactly what I wanted but I wasnt sure if I wanted to spend the money to buy the vases. Where did you buy the vases? I love the idea of the submersible lights. I will have to ask my florist about it. I am putting votive candles around it but the lights sounds awesome. Did your florist actually put a real centerpiece together for you with the exact flowers you are going to use? I am not sure exactly what flowers I want in it and my florist rattled off some different flowers but I dont know what they all look like and dont know what they will look like in the centerpiece. I would hate to end up with flowers in it that I dont like.
Anyway- has anyone decided on and booked their honeymoon. I keep bugging my FH to make a decision so we can get it booked but he finally just told me to pick wherever I wanted to go and he would be fine with it. Thats not fun!! I dont want to pick it by myself. But I am considering one of the Sandals resorts just because its all inclusive and everyone we've talked to thats been, loves it. I also want to check into Figi and Tahiti. Any advice??
Ya, I am buying the vases - I think it was like $20 each for the vases. My florist is getting them for me. Also, you can look up those submersible lights online - I think it is florylites.com.
My spelling may be a little off on that. I am buying those myself cause it would just be cheaper than getting them through the florists..
And yes, my florist put together and showed me every flower and greenery that will be used as the centerpiece - it was just so beautiful - I really WAS in tears... Just stricking and almost felt like a floral umbrella over the table.
Don't let your florists just throw something together and you not know what it is.. What I did was bring her a bunch of pictures of flowers, centerpieces, bouquets, etc from wedding magazines and online searching and then she and I worked at putting together the plan from there cause she SAW what I liked and what colors I was leaning towards.
Our honeymoon - easy.. Log cabin in the mountains of NH with a hot tub... We don't need much!
Hey there July brides- I havent been on for a while. Kind of put wedding planning on the back burner for a while but we are now all about 6 mos away and well- I know I need to get back into it again. So how is everyone doing? We booked our honeymoon and finally booked the photographer and videoagrapher. That was my last major vendor to book. I am now getting started on invites and favors. What is everyone doing for favors? I am totally stuck on this one.
Hope to see more of you back on here during this these last 6 mos. It helps to get ideas and know you arent the only one.
hi ... july 07 bride here! i'm kinda new to these forums - i'm so happy i found this site b/c everyone is so helpful! so my wedding is july 21st. only 6 months to go!!! i got engaged back in june and immediately booked my wedding and reception site (i'm having everything at 1 location). i've ordered my dress, my BMs ordered their dresses, i booked a photographer and a florist. i'm still waiting on the DJ and i'm getting a lil scared. he's a friend (and a professional DJ) and said he'd do it, but i haven't gotten the signed contract back in the mail yet. i'll feel a lot better once it's signed and the deposit is sent. if that doesn't happen this week, i'll start looking for a new DJ - yikes! i'm also currently looking for a ceremony musician (pianist or harp). i feel like i've accomplished a lot, but there's just so much to do! i'm sure you all understand b/c you're in exactly the same situation. anyway, good luck with the planning girls!
My name is Melissa and this is my story. My boyfriend of 5 years & I met in early 2001 while working at a gas station together. Then we didn't meet up again until October of 2001 at a Fuel concert at my college campus. We exchanged numbers and he called me the next day! We went out casually a few times and ended up dating in December. I didn't think it would be a very serious relationship considering her was just 19 and I was 20 & a Junior in college. However, 5 years later, here we are planning a wedding! We've lived together for about 3 1/2 years. Our family consists of ourselves and our chocolate lab, Hazel, that Brad got me this past November for my 25th Birthday. She is our 'kid' and is totally spoiled!Another cute thing about us... our initials our the reverse- Melissa S. B + Bradley S. M MSB+BSM
Our wedding: We are having a 7/7/07 wedding and it's been planned since shortly after our engagement in December of 2005. WE are having a Lucky in Love theme, incorporating 7's and lucky charms. Brad's grandfather who passed away when he was young carried the nickname of Lucky and according to Brad's mother, acts & looks a great deal like his grandfather, so it has become a very fitting date and theme. My 6 bridesmaids will be wearing clover green :-) 2 piece halter top with A-line skirt and I (#7) will be in 'virgin' white as I like to call it (ha-ha!).
