My reception venue has really rich colors - lots of burgundies, golds, greens and dark wood -
I tried on a couple of linens and found bronze color to work best with the venue. The richness of bronze complemented with the other rich colors in the room without overpowering others. I also like the shimmer in bronze -
However, I have seen very little wedding ideas with bronze color - I can't have everything bronze in the room so I am looking for colors that would go with bronze -
I was wondering what colors would go well with bronze? What flower colors should I get? What bridesmaid dress color should I get? Invitations? My inclination is to find a light color so not everything look so rich... I've seen pink paired up with brown but I am not sure if pink will work with the room.
I think white flowers would go best - like calla lillies (they have a very rich look to them).
This is a tough one for me because I have a feeling I am thinking about the metals brass or copper or even rust when you say bronze. It would help if you can post the color or shade of bronze on here to give us a better idea. In the mean time you can stick with "metal" colors like gold, silver, platinum, or brass and copper for your colors. But just pick bronze and one other "metal" color or at the most two "metal" colors. (I was just listing all the ones I knew to give you an idea to put them up next to each other). I have seen jewelry with gold and silver or other metals mixed together and it doesn't look too bad if you don't use it in excess.
Or I was thinking of doing shades of ivory, champagne or creme with bronze. Which sounds beautiful! OR maybe even chocolate brown and bronze! tell me what do you think?
I am thinking white flowers also. I would go with lighter bridesmaid dresses, I am thinking burnt orange, yellow, maybe even a pale lime green. I agree it would help to see what shade of broze you are using. Blue would also be very pretty!
As one who likes bright and rich colors in terms of dresses and flowers - For a dress I might go with a burgandy or an olive green - I wore a dress to a ball last year that was an irredescent olive green which probably sounds disgusting but it was fabulous and my shoes were a bronze color with little pumpkin colored stones in therm - For flowers - I woulds say a deep orange or red(burgandy) and maybe some ivory.... Like I said, I'm a little different and like things to stand out...
Then you could always mix them with chocolate color brown (have chocolate favors! and maybe things like birch branches coming out the centerpieces or something).
I also like the idea of doing the brass color and gold (like gold ribbons and chargers and everything) and then maybe having ivory colored candles in the middle (wrapped in gold wribbon perhaps?).... sticking with matalics would be really nice.... I'd stay away from white, it might be too harsh next to the deeep rich colors of the room.
Girl, after looking at the pictures I have the perfect color for the bridesmaids dresses!! Aflred Angelo has a color named Dusty Rose. I called Alfred Angelo and asked for swatch of this color and it would be perfect to go with the bronze linens and the carpet. My colors are burgundy and pink. My bridesmaids and Matron are wearing David's Bridal Wine (burgundy) color and my Made of Honor (my sister) is wearing Alfred Angelo's Dusty Rose.
Here's Alfred Angelo's number to call for the swatch: 1-800-528-3589. Ooooo, I'm so excited for you because this color will be wonderful!
Your room is giving you the clue. Use the rich reds, burgundies, and golds. Bronze containers for rich colored flowers would be gorgeous. Men's accessories do come in bronze metallic. For the girls, any of the brown/bronze tones, copper, one of the reds, gold--all would be great. I have tons of pictures of various schemes that I can show you. myra at www.classysassyweddings.com
I think that choosing a lot of dark colors might be too much, I'm inclined to pick lighter colors to really make your flowers and bridesmaids colors 'pop' and not blend in too much with the surroundings. I think you can do pink, but more of an accent color and pale pink. Here are some pics of things I think would work, hope it helps a little!
You guys totally read my mind!!!!! And your ideas are awesome - I think having all rich colors would be a little too much - I like the ivory/gold idea with a tint of pink to soften it..... .I've uploaded the linen colors. Both linens have a shimmer to them which gives them a metallic look. The colors on the linen, when it stands alone, are not my favorite colors, but in the room, they look fantastic. At first, I was leaning towards the gold (see the linen above), but it looked really washed out in the room
Besides ivory and gold, are there any light colors you think would go well with the color scheme I have?.... Thanks!!! -
Oh yeah, I am going to go check out the dusty rose color this weekend at a bridal store neaer me!! I'm so anxious that I don't even want to wait for the swatch!
