To Wear Makeup or Not To Wear Makeup?
Posted: Sep 20, 2011 7:57 AM

Hello everyone! So, I just got engaged and although we are not getting married until May 2013, my fiance and I were just discussing little things and makeup came up in our conversation. I don't wear any kind of makeup. No foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick, eyeliner, etc. Nothing. I'm not being cocky or anything, but everyone always tells me that I have natural beauty. I have never suffered from acne, I don't have any scars or marks on my face, so I never found it necessary for me to wear makeup. So, my fiance does not want me to wear makeup at our wedding or in any of the photos. I thought that it is a must to wear makeup for the pictures and on the wedding day. Any advice/comments/thoughts?

Dear Rohna,

"You should wear at least a natural or light makeup. In this way you will not be too pale in front of the cameras or videos."

Total BS.

Men look just fine in the photos and videos, and it is rare for a man to wear makeup.

I never wear makeup, not even as a bride at my own wedding. My photos were fine.

I stopped wearing makeup a long time ago. However, I do plan to wear some for my wedding. I'll not go to a makeup "artist" because I don't want to look like a hooker. I have bought some new makeup for myself because I don't want to use "old" makeup. I plan on playing with the colors toward the end of summer. (Getting married in November.) Don't know how much sun I will get next year.

I think light makeup usually works best for most brides. I don't like the caked on feeling or look of having too much.

I kind of think you might want some highlights in the photos and agree that maybe lip gloss or just a touch of mascara might play up your features just a bit more in photos.

Ladies,

In no way is makeup necessary. I never wear makeup, not even as a bride in my own wedding. My photos turned out just great.

If you like makeup, go for it. If you don't usually wear makeup, then don't think you have to glop it on just for one day.

Well, I would say, if you do not want to wear makeup - just don't do it. What I can recommend instead is a blemish balm in case you have trouble with your skin shortly before the wedding like red spots or whatever. But if you are naturally handsome, don't use makeup. J

I think, a little make up is ok. After all, brides have a certain glow on their wedding day. :)

I prefer to wear makeup. It is wedding, not a daily life event. We have enough reasons to show the best of me on that day.

If you are beautiful, can keep it, or You should wear at least a natural or light makeup

The jewelry that a bride wears on her wedding day is an essential part of her bridal outfit. Jewelry is supposed to make a woman shine, and bridal jewelry is meant to complement that special glow that a bride wears on her wedding day. All eyes will be on the bride. So it's important that she chooses the right wedding jewelry pieces for that day because there is nothing worse than an overdressed bride.http://www.stainlesssteeljeweler.com
