Alert: Art Leather Wedding Albums from the 80's and 90's

Please share this information with anyone who may have received a wedding album made by a company known as "Art Leather" within the last 30 years.
In the 80's and 90's, this company used a material known as "Aristohyde" to design their wedding albums. Tens of thousands of these albums were made and sold by photographers across the country.
Years later, this 'Aristohyde" began to break down or "melt", no matter how well taken care of the wedding album was. Thousands of people are taking out their old wedding albums and finding that they are ruined and the covers are literally melted away.
Art Leather and its successor, Professional Albums, both went out of business. Art Leather in fact filed for bankruptcy mostly due to complaints about these covers.
That's the bad news. The good news is that in most cases, the pages(and enclosed photographs) can be removed from the covers. The melted cover can then be resurfaced with new leather or replaced entirely, at a lower cost than purchasing a new wedding album.
Please pass the word on to anyone who may have received these wedding albums from years ago, or who may have one on a shelf or in storage.
