I'm new here and just wanted to say hello!
My boyfriend and I met about 3 years ago. We used to work in the same building but in different areas so we didn't know eachother very well. One day we hit it off and we've been inseparable ever since! The first part of our relationship was long-distance which was difficult but we made it through and we are now living together :) I knew from even just the first few dates that he was the one. I know he will propose soon and I can't wait! We have been talking of marriage for a while now and we feel we are ready to take the next step and get engaged. About a month ago we went shopping for an engagement ring together. It was a great experience to be able to choose the ring together (plus he was relieved he didn't have to make this decision on his own lol) He wants to wait for the perfect moment so now I'm impatiently waiting for the proposal! lol
We have decided to get married in our home city, where all our friends and family live. The problem is that we currently live at the other end of the country and are only able to go home about twice a year. I know my friends and family will be a huge help but I am still a bit concerned about the planning process. We have decided to have a rather long engagement because of this and to save up some money. Has anyone else planned a wedding like this? How difficult was it to organize everything from a distance?
Also are there any other past/future RCMP brides here? I'm having a hard time finding a colour scheme that will go with his serge and am looking for ideas.. Right now I'm thinking navy/yellow would go well but they're not really by first choice of colours. We're hoping for a summer wedding so we'd like it to be light and airy, almost a beach feel to it :)
