Problem with a bridesmaid's "funky" colored hair.....HELP!

I have a bridesmaid whose hair is multiple shades of blue, green and yellow, with the color mostly framing her face. When I asked her to be my bridesmaid, the un-natural colors in her hair were far less and not as distracting, but over the past few months, they have become more obvious. She has offered to dye her hair to match the wedding colors, as she is a hair stylist! However, I think the brightly colored hair, especially framing her face, will be very distracting and will take away from MY wedding pictures. My MOH has already approached the subject with her on one occasion and she didn't seem very favorable to the idea of changing her hair color, and stated she did not care if it was distracting, that's "who she is." Would it be inappropriate to ask her to change her hair color for the wedding? At least to limit the funky colors near her face?

I think it is also important to add that she is the only one in the wedding party that is a fan of the hair.

I would not ask her to dye her hair for your wedding. Especially since you said that her hair was several different colors when you asked her to be in your wedding.

I agree; I wouldn't ask her to dye her hair when you knew "that's who she is." You might speak with your photographer and alert her/him to the issue and ask that your friend be positioned in photos so that her most flattering side shows. A good photographer can do wonders, both in positioning for the photos and in the use of Photoshop afterwards.

You might also want to request that your girls wear their hair in an up-do style for your wedding. That way the "colorful" parts of her hair will atleast be pulled back away from her face. They might be less noticeable then.
