Faith was like that. She eventually got to about 20 minutes a feed as she got older. Good luck! I will get easier!

It totally sucks a lot of our posts are gone, wondered what happened! We SHOULD start a new thread, so it's not 200+ pages long! :)

So I talked to my lactation consultant yesterday and she gave some good advice. She told me to get a nipple shield. Gabe's latch is so painful, no matter what I've done. She said that sometime's happens premies, their mouths are so small that you can't get a good deep latch and they only suck on the nipple, making it so painful! I just don't enjoy nursing because it hurts! I cringe at the thought! So DH is picking one up today and I'm just going to pump and bottle feed all day. I honestly could do just that and be fine, but I know nursing is good for bonding, so we'll try the nipple shield and see how it goes.

She said to have Gabe suck on my finger first and try to "train" his tongue to come forward. No WONDER my nipples hurt so bad, that boy has a STRONG suck!! OUCH!!! So we'll try this and see how it goes. I want to do this, but if I cringe and cry everytime it's just not a good thing and will make me not want to have this time with him.

Today is better, got to spend some great time with DH last night, talked, and snuggled and we both enjoyed Gabe. So that was wonderful. Hoping the sun comes out today, that would help! :)
