RSVP etiquette in unusual situation...
Posted: Sep 26, 2011 5:48 AM

I am struggling to decide when to ask guests to send back RSVPs. I am getting married in California in July, but having a blessing in Scotland in September (the groom is Scottish and we both currently live in Scotland).

As we'll be doing everything long distance (sending invites, etc.) and some guests will be traveling to attend both events, this whole invitation process could take longer than normal. Also, there will probably be a higher than normal number of guests who are not able to come.

SO, I would like to ask for RSVPs to come back to me early enough so that I can invite others if we end up with alot of family who can't make it.

How early is too early to ask for RSVPs in this situation?
