Need help! Postponing my wedding but losing deposit!

My fiance and I are postponing our wedding from this fall to next spring due to my employment status (hoping to get a permanent job with my temporary employer). We had reserved the Comus Inn for Sunday, October 9, 2011 (a long weekend - Colombus Day weekend).
