Married to an Indian girl, and their weddings start at 500 guest! is crazy.
At first we wanted to seat everyone, plan what table whom they were going to sit next to. We went crazy!
Is anyone else going through this? Is plannig guest seating such a pain?

Do you have a real question?

I'll hijack this thread if we find out this is an evil vendor...

We have a small wedding, around 40 people if everyone shows up. Our venue has smaller rectangular fold out tables. 6ft x 2.5 ft. We are thinking of maybe trying to do a horseshoe with the tables.
I'm not sure if we will be able to seat 2 couples or 3 couples comfortably at each table so if need be we could ad a third row down the middle.

Has anyone else here done a wedding with rectangular tables?

Beeble - Mine wasn't but my Bro and ex-SIL did.

It can look really cool. I know your venue is willing to work with you, so just make sure that the # of people you have will fit comfy at the tables.

Sometimes with the venues, you don't have a choice as to how many people are at a table - you have another added luxury since you are using a non-traditional place!

And I don't think the OP's a vendor, but I agreed with Cat. The post was weird and I wasn't sure about the question.

All I can say is - If you are having a 500 person wedding, you had better have assigned seats. Yes, it will take you a lot of time to do it, but do you have ANY CLUE how long it will take for 500 (!) people to wander around and FIND SEATS. The reception will be over and they'll still be looking.
