.Wedding cake flavors and styles.

Hi everyone! My wedding's May 25th,2012. I already have my wedding cake ordered. It is lemon flavored, 3 square tiers with white buttercream icing, pool blue polka dots and a watermelon pink ribbon across the base of each tier. I want to know what you all think of this plus I want to know what everyone else's cake will be like.

Instead of the watermelon ribbon maybe you can try a sunshine yellow. It will really accent the blue really nicely and still stands out as a center piece.

We just picked out our cake today! It won't be done in these colors though and the monogram thing on the second tier down won't be there because we're using a monogram cake topper. I'll probably order it in all white except for the band around the bottom of each tier. I might have them do that in brown.

That cake looks beautiful!

I honestly think that the fabulous cakes are the best improvement on weddings since I was young. We just had tiered white cakes.

You ladies have gazillions of really unique, beautiful, fanciful cakes for your weddings.

You know what would be great with your cake? Maybe a type of fruit filling like rasberry centers.

I'm really torn on the cake issue. We will at most have 40 people so we don't need a big fancy cake but I really do like them.

Hi Beeble,

Even though your wedding guest list is small, that does not mean you can't have a fabulous cake. There are ways to make the cake more majestic.
A couple of ideas-have a dummy bottom tier with two tiers above it that will feed 40. Or use pillars in between tiers to make the cake taller.

Find a really unusual cake stand to display your cake on and then have the baker make each tier taller than the norm. That look is in style right now.

Or do a cupcake wedding cake. A tiered cupcake stand with 40 or 50 decorated cupcakes and a 6 inch raised cake for the bride and groom in the center would be awesome!
