Brooke, thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend. What a nightmare. I sincerely wish the best for them.

Sy, I would love to go to PR. I've heard so many wonderful things! Sounds like you had a great visit!

Pharm, so sorry about your cold. Being sick while pregnant certianly sucks the big one!

Lucky me! NOT! I find out today if I have kidney stones. YAY. I have had horrible pain in my left side just below my rib cage and stretches around to my back. I had blood in my urine (sorry TMI) on Friday and just figured it was spotting but after talking to the nurse it sounds like it was in my pee. So I went in yesterday and there are still traces and the pain has gotten significantly worse. The bast part of this whole thing is that there is NOTHING they can do about it! Lucky me. So I have to go have an ultrasound this afternoon and that will confirm or not that that is what is going on. Sadly, I am hoping that that is what it is because if it isn't I'm just a big baby and there is no way I'll make it through child birth.... ugh.

Pharm that sucks! I'm on Day 7 of a really bad chest cold, and Day 2 of staying home from work and it sucks! I can only sleep half sitting up, because otherwise I can't breathe. Makes for great nights! I almost never get sick, and I rarely take medication of any kind, but I can't express how much I wish I could down a bottle of cold medicine right now! lol

Tonight is our first prenatal class, too. I don't know if I'll be able to drag myself out of bed...boo for being sick!

MrsPaul - That sucks about the kidney stones. That's like the second preggo person I've heard with KS. I can't imagine.

Agape - I feel your pain. I am so prone to bronchitis that I'm concerned. And everyone tells you to take things because it was safe for them - But I can't take some things because of concerns with the pregnancy (blood pressure and heart rate and the such).

Honestly too Agape, if there's a chance that you may still be contagious and your group is a group meeting - you may not want to go and be around other pregnant people.

Unfortunately I didn't have a choice not to be around my husband.

Agape, you can probably call your Dr to see if there is anything you can take, but I think most cold stuff is approved for women in the 3rd trimester. And really cold medicine only makes me loopy and feel WORSE! Rest is probably your best bet. Just all part of being pregnant in the winter! Did you happen to get a flu shot? Obviously thats for the flu but since I got mine, I haven't been sick and my whole immediate family was sick right up to and after Christmas and I made it out alive. I dont know if the flu shot has anything to do with that...but who knows!

I'm going on 35 weeks! I can't believe it. I am REALLY starting to feel it though.Last night my legs were achy and I couldnt keep them still. And my belly feels SOOO super heavy and tight. UGH. My sister is like "yes the next weeks are the WORST". I am trying to drink a lot of water and eat better until the end. I havent been swelling but sometimes my feet feel a little swollen at the end of the day.

The nursery is about finished. We just need to get the mattress and we have a coupon for 20% off that starts this weekend for that. And I washed all her 0-3 and 3 month clothes and folded them and put them away. I Washed receiving blankets and socks. Any moms have suggestions for washing socks?? I know the sock monster is going to be visiting a lot--they are SOOOOO tiny! My mom thinks they sell laundry bags to put them in the washer with... I got some new PJs at Old Navy and a comfy coming home outfit for me and thats packed in my bag. My sister and I are going out on Saturday for other hospital things and nursing bras.

Other than that, everything is good. I am meeting with my HR dept at 1:30 today to talk about my leave and what kinds of PTO time I can use for that. So hopefully I will come out of that meeting happy! :)

Flu shots have no effect against colds or bacterial infections. It also has no to little effect against different strains of the flu NOT in the vaccine. (I got mine too, but it's not a way to not even get the flu as it is to hopefully not get a serious case.) Now, being pregnant often boosts your immune system - so NJ I'm thinking you are one of those lucky people. I felt like I was getting sick a couple of times and didn't - but I think this time it was too much for my immune system.

I'm in trouble in that I need to try and take something for the chest congestion - but have issues with the meds usually and don't want to take them with being pregnant. and the active ingredient in Sudafed, which I usually take, can do wonky things to your blood pressure and heart rate, which I just don't think would be a good thing at this point.

I'm probably going to end up needing an x-ray and antibiotics before I'm recovered from this crap.

NJ - It's so weird to think that you are SO close. And I imagine it's even crazier for you!

Hey Ladies! Here's an update from my friend. The new hospital kept her on monitors all night and she did alright. So they repeated the xray this morning and they couldn't find anything. They think the first xray was a bad one (which is not unheard of from that first hospital!) and her vitals were good. They think her epiglotis (sp??) closed down and that's why she stopped breathing. So they discharged her this afternoon and they are home. So THANK YOU all for your prayers! I can't imagine how terrifying that all was for them! To do CPR on your own baby!! Hopefully it was a freaky one time thing.

NJ-I bet you could buy a "delicates bag" and put her little socks in it, then they wouldn't be all over the washer :)

Pharm- I hope you get to feeling better! It's going around our office too. Yay for winter! ugh

Mrs Paul- I'm so sorry to hear about the kidney stones! That has to be no fun at all! I have a friend who used to get them and I know they were painful. Hopefully they pass, did they say cranberry juice might help at all?

Oh, and a bit of good news FINALLY from me, AF arrived today!! I NEVER thought I'd be so happy to see her! haha But this is the first sign of getting back to normal and onward to hopefully starting our family again. Not sure what to expect from this cycle after everything, but hoping it goes normally. Anyway, I'm pretty stoked about it, haha

Brooke, I'm so happy about the baby! I didn't get home till right now, so I didn't know till now :) But I'll pray that she continues on healthy. If your friends have the resources, they should still get her checked out through a specialist. My little sister used to get seizures when she was an infant. We had ambulances at our house all the time because she would stop breathing as well. She grew out of it and is healthy now.

Good morning everyone!

I havent been on in a couple of days. Yesterday I had a stomach virus and my poor unborn child starved because mommy couldn't keep anything down! :-(

Brooke, I am so glad your friend's baby is doing better, I just can't imagine if that happened to me.

NJ- I so wish I was 35 weeks! It seems like my time has stopped completely and I will be pregnant for the next year! Sorry that's how I'm feeling! LOL

Pharm, your DH is being so cute! Warms my heart :)

Brooke, I hope your numbers keep climbing!! Positive thoughts to you :)

Here's a question: Can a doctor induce your period?

I'm currently on CD 43 with no sign of my period in sight! My last period started on 1/10/11. I have absolutely no signs of pregnancy. When I was younger, before getting on BC, my periods were extremely irregular. There was one year that I only had two the entire year. Of course, I saw it as a blessing back then...I mean, who wants their period?? I wasn't sexually active then, so I had no worries.

Now, I'd probably pay money to have my period. It's just really annoying! I've taken 4 or 5 pregnancy tests and they've all be negative. Like I said, I really don't think I'm pregnant. I just want my period so I can start my BC...ugh!

Thoughts?

Call your doctor.

They may put you on something to try and get you back regulated.

Also, they may want to look into why your periods are so irregular - that might be good to look into NOW before your TTC.

Good luck!

Thanks, Pharm.

They're trying to get me in for a blood test today to rule out pregnancy. I'd been pretty regular up until a few months ago (I've been off of BC since July). Which was kind of shocking in and of itself because I was so irregular when I was younger. Last month (Dec) it was 36 days, the month before (Nov) it was 34 days. So, July-Oct was exactly 30 days.

I'm waiting to get a call back for the appt time. I'll update ASAP.

When I was younger, I had my first period and then didn't have another for 9 months! haha Like you I thought it was great! But my mom took me to the Dr and they jump started my period and then promplty put me on BC. After I got off after being on it for 14 years in June, my period that used to be every 28days, was now 30, 32, 34..... it was a toss up. But def talk to your dr... lots of factors can go into it.

Well, just got done with blood draw #2 and waiting to hear the results! I'm not sure if I'll hear from them tonight, the office closes at 5 and I'm not sure if the MW on call will call me about it tonight. So if not, I'm calling 1st thing in the morning!!! So I need to go burn off some energy on the eliptical and hopefully hear from them soon! Will keep you posted! :)
