Recv'd regrets from Save the Dates - Still send invitations?

I sent out my Save the Dates a couple weeks ago and I received a few phone calls and emails from those who could definitely not attend. Should I still send an invitation to them (some are relatives)? It seemed sort of "pushy" to me but then again I thought they may want to keep something like that???

Dear Saffire,

My best suggestion would be to send the invitation, and include a note to the effect that you still hope they might be able to attend. Sometimes things change during the typical 6 months between the STD and the wedding date itself.

Besides, the STD says "invitation will follow".

You could always ask the relatives if they want the invite to keep. A good question. I could see it as pushy, but you did say the invite would follow. Like PP said including a note about things changing, is a good idea if you send the invite.
