Return at David's Bridal
Posted: May 3, 2010 12:17 PM

I was supposed to be a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding and she allowed us to
pick our own dresses. I found one that I liked at David's Bridal but since they
didn't have my size, they had to order it for me. The dress arrived at the store
like a month ago but some issues came up with my friend and now I am not a part
of that wedding anymore. The dress never left the store and from what I read
online on their website, they don't do returns/exchanges for merchandise bought
from the stores. The dress is of no use to me. Could I explain my
situation to them and there might be a chance that they agree for a partial refund or something ? Any
suggestion would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you !

My sister ordered a BM dress from them but the wedding ended up cancelled. They gave her store credit that had an expiration date and luckily I ended up getting engaged so she was able to use the credit for my wedding. Ask iff you can get a store credit. Even if your not going to be in another wedding they have nice special occassion dresses, shoes, and purses. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your reply ! However, in my case the wedding is not cancelled. Could they still consider my request if I mention that I am not a part of the wedding because of personal differences ?

Why dont you call them and simply ask them? They would be able to answer this question a whole lot better than we would.

I'm with Kelly, call them and ask!

I will say this though, its not straight store credit. If you return shoes you get store credit towards shoes, purse towards purse and dress towards dress. So if you are returning a bridesmaid dress you will be able to buy another "bridesmaids" dress. Just buy a fun color in a cute style.

I feel like a kid. Pinch me. This kind of love certainly can't be real. Oh wait, it is :)

I agree with you, call them and to see if there is anything you think is more suitable for daily wear;-)
Good luck!

I wouldn't even say why you are no longer in the wedding, just be as vague as possible. Maybe something like, you are unable to be in the wedding, or unable to attend, but no need to go into detail. Also, since another poster has posted that her sister was able to get store credit, you know that it is possible for them to give you atleast store credit. If they refuse, definitly mention that you know it has been done before.
