What do you plan to do with your wedding dress?
Posted: Apr 22, 2010 8:45 PM

Hi ladies,

I'm trying to find interesting or creative ideas for my wedding dress now that the wedding is over. I would love a way to keep some or all of it as long as it makes sense. Currently my dress is packed in a bin in the basement, and I am not the kind of person who wants to save it for a future daughter. Any interesting ideas out there?

Not really, other than to tell you that I was really happy my grandma kept hers. We used the lace in all the bouquets, and wrapped the FG basket in her veil. I'm keeping mine. Mostly, cause I love it and don't want to get rid of it. I use to dress up in my grandmas, and she'd take pictures of me and fix my hair. It was fun. I don't know if that's helpful or not helpful, but it sure was really great to have her dress for my wedding since she passed the year before.

Haha,In my view, evry generation has their fashion and favorite. So, I am aslo not the person to save my wedding dress to my daughter. Just tell you my friend usually use the dress to calm down the war betwnee her and her husband. She sometime ask her husband to wear the dress together to review their sweet moment. It is good idea.

I will be saving mine for my future daughter or grandaughter or whoever. The dress can always be altered to fit a specific taste. If you're just really not into doing that, you can use it to make christening gowns for your children. Or you can take it out of the box and ask your photographer about doing a Trash The Dress session so you can get some really fun photos. Or, you can sell it on a site like www.bravobride.com.

I will possibly do some trash the dress type pictures, get it drycleaned, and sealed up in a box. This won't be a full out hop in the ocean type trash the dress. I'm probably going to sit on the grass or lie on the grass with my husband for some of the pictures.
