I orginally was going to go with a Destination Jamaica wedding, but Ive had to change that due to his grandparents not being able to fly. I live in Delaware and dont know where to start. I want an outdoor wedding perhaps in a Garden somewhere. Anyone else in DE getting married? know of any places?

Hi there! I'm also a DE bride.

I read a couple of your other posts - you're looking at about 40 people? You want a garden wedding and an intimate locale... I don't know where you're located, though - North, South, or Central. I'm in New Castle, so I'll just give you info on a few places I know.

Have you thought about Longwood Gardens? It's a bit pricey, but the gardens are totally worth it. If you're looking for beautiful gardens indoors and out, they have a Victorian Solarium, Grand Esplanade and a boxwood garden next to a long pool and fountains.
More info here:

There's Winterthur Estate & Gardens - they have several gardens that are fantastic. Don't know if they have an event planner.
Here's the general website:

You might want to try Delaware Center for Horticulture, too. They DO have event planning, beautiful public gardens and an indoor facility for entertaining. LOTS of photo moments in the garden!
you can contact them here:

If you're sticking with 40 people and want a very intimate and unusual spot, you can try Greenbank Mill. It's an actual mill from the 1800's that they've converted into an education and entertainment venue. They have Civil War re-enactments there, as well as a working farm. The Wilmington & Western railroad is across the street - literally! The mill has a small clearing that they can set up for your nuptiuals, then inside to party. You have to provide your own caterer, but there are plenty to choose from - Appleton being the biggest and closest to the Mill.
you can contact them here:

These are the only places I know. If I come across anything else, I'll post for you. Or if you'd like me to check anything out - I'm a librarian, research is my thing. I'll be happy to help.

Best wishes!
